david_matuszek
I have heard many rumors that A&O will be picking up production of Rodinal and that as soon as they find an American distributor we will have some. I contacted A&O who told me their American distributor was Integra (not if they where making Rodinal yet, even though thats what I had asked in my first sentence.) I looked on their website and they had a network of disturbers around the U.S.. I called several of the distributors in the northeast who all said they didnt hear any thing about A&O making Rodinal, just that they picked up the mini lab business. What is the deal? Did A&O pick up the Rodinal market? If so where can I find it?
jay ott
Rodinal is available at freestylephoto.biz.
joe_s7
Geez Louise David, take a chill pill! No need for such a fuss. This subject has been hashed out months ago, maybe should have done a search for it. B&H has it, Adorama has it, Freestyle has it, so basically, all the vendors who carried it previously, still do. Did you happen to actually look anywhere for it before posting???
david_matuszek
Joe, I did search the archive, and the search function hear isnt really the best. The top 5 searches just said it was coming not that it had come. Adorama has no Rodinal on its website nor dose B&H. So if they have it where is it? Freestyle had a while supplies last note in its printed catalog (though to be honest i don't have the latest), and I dont like ordering from them because being in CA it takes forever for stuff to get to MA. So before jumping down my throat hear me out.

pics
I bought some from Freestyle a few weeks ago but its possible that in the enthusiasm of Rodinal's return it has been clearing out pretty quick. It may take some time before demand levels off and suppliers can ensure constant availability.
david_matuszek
Thanks for like link Dan but what I am looking for is the pre-mixed stuff. I know I can get the photo formulary stuff but Id rather not the hassle of mixing it all up. Id just assume get Calbe R09 if the A&O thing is a myth. I just want a strait answer of who is importing A&Os Rodinal and where can I find it. I dont want to be told to mix my own, or that I am a bad person for not searching the forum better (Sorry if I seem to be in a bad mood Bad day; non photo related.) Freestyle seems to be one place I can get it (or at least it is on there website,) Adorama and B&H dont seem to be.
mpo
Well, the link above doesn't point to Rodinal but to "Photographer's Formulary Paraminophenol". After reading the link, it's a kit of dry chemicals to prepare a stock solution similar to Rodinal. It says that this pseudo-Rodinal stock solution lasts for six months, that's way shorter than the real Rodinal! (but, to be honest, I don't remember what Agfa says -said- about their product). A couple of weeks ago www.freestylephoto.biz had Rodinal in stock. I bought one hundred bottles, just to be sure...
discpad
David, Mixing up the Formulary Rodinal is no harder than mixing up D-76, or even Kool-Aid for that matter: Just stir the powder into water!

pics
Rodinal also says that the stock solution is good for 6 months once opened. Of course we all know it lasts longer than that. The Formulary version is the same stuff. There isn't anything top secret in Rodinal. Any variations would be so small as to not be detectable. pics
As you can see, the fact that people are buying Rodinal 100 bottles at a time explains why you don't see it anywhere lol!
jlkphoto
Freestyle has it today. They have a $25 minimum order rule. I just got some in an Ebay auction. There is quite a bit for sale there, however most is overpriced. B&H won't ship most liquid chemicals anymore...so even if they stocked it, you'd have to pick it up in NYC. larrydressler
My order from Freestyle was confirmed that it is shipping today. I ordered it Saturday. They said they have plenty in stock but many people are getting 4+ bottles at a time I just got 1 because the last one lasted me 2 years. chuck_pere
Is Freestyle selling the new A&O product or still selling old Agfa stock?
photo_smith
This place have it if you don't mind a UK supplier. (they say it's A&O) www.silverprint.co.uk
x-ray
I've had no problems getting B&H to ship liquids. They place the bottle in a zip lock bag and ship. I received a shipment last week.
pics
B+H most certainly does ship liquids. The things they won't ship are products with certain Hazmat warnings although other retailers take a more relaxed approach towards sending things that B+H won't. If I'm not mistaken, Rodinal isn't among the things B+H doesn't ship.
larrydressler
It is because they are in New York. California has less restrictions on this .. It is their tax loss in NY. it has to be shipped ground by federal law but NY goes past that ...HC-110 can go but Rodenol can't Go figure.
