  1. Looks like the Fire is about to be put out! Nice shot Dana.
  2. It certainly did Rick. It appears that the Kiddos had a great time with their Paratrooper drop! What a great idea.
  3. Nicely done Rick. I'm sure you had plenty of info to pass on to your tent visitors.
  4. This forum is for getting help using the Photo.net website. You might get a better response if you post your topic here: https://www.photo.net/forums/forum/30-classic-manual-film-cameras/
  5. I don't either. I brought the lens to work with me and took it to the x-ray guys in my department. The reading he got at the rear was in millirems (or converted to it) and then plugged that in to an exposure chart to see how dangerous it was. He said something like you would have to wear that camera and lens around your neck 24 hours a day for several months (or years?) before it would be a concern. That was about 14 years ago, but I wrote down all the facts. If I find where I put that I'll report back here.
  6. What I did was open John Seaman's link, hover over forums, click S&D. At the top left click on '424 Captures'. Now it's slow going, with selecting a year, clicking the link in any day, and choosing from the various threads. Some are there, some are not. The good article on the M8 that I mentioned is in July, 30 of '08 in the right side menu. I had to open it and then refresh once or twice to get it to load correctly.
  7. Here's one from July, 2008. Not an S&D thread but a review of the Leica M8. All the photos and member comments are intact. (oops, the pasted link didn't come up right so I removed it)
  8. When I held a Geiger counter on my Canon 35/2.0 concave, all the noise came from the rear element.
  9. BNSF 1571 leading a 5 unit lash-up, pops into the late afternoon sun as it cants hard into the high speed curve west of Catoosa, Oklahoma. The Fireman gives me the obligatory eye-ball to be sure that the only thing I'm shooting way out here is a camera. 9/14/1998, three years after the BN/SF merger. Canon A-1, FDn 50/1.4, Kodachrome 64. (processed by Kodalux, Dallas, Tx. )
  10. I have to agree that yours sings. Good work. Mine seems to just gurgle. I have never been satisfied with the image focus of either of my two that I bought new in 1980 and 1988. How did you master hyperfocal skills when your only tools are: Mountains, Whole People, and Half People? The close up zone is very narrow and the other two are about the same. All three photos are exceptional, especially the first one.
  11. Well put #7. I’ve never thought of it that way, but you are quite right.
  12. That is why Sandy recommended the plastic dishpan bath. You pour your diluted or stock solutions of dev, stop, and fixer, into their cylinders and place them into the tub with some tap water. Then add refrigerator water until the bath is maybe 66 deg. or so. Watch the dev. cylinder until it comes down to 68-70. Adjust with either water as necessary. I was living in a warm temp house many years ago and had to do this also for a while.
  13. I don’t think so. At that time period I believe June was a little ‘longer in the tooth’ than that young model.
