While I wouldnt want to offer that it wasnt or wast CORRECT (little in photography is an absolute), I would certainly say that by pushing the film, you wound up with a very nice usable image. It has excellent color/tone/saturation and in this case I'd certainly say that it wasnt a bad choice to push the film, based on the results.

'sexy' shots need environment...in my opinion. Flat white seamless doesnt create a mood. Pose is awkward, arms & expression too tense, model should relax arms/hands. If you want top to look more revealing, dont have model pull the top, instead have one strap loosely slipping off the shoulder...its more natural and soft that way.

hard to take a bad photo in the canyon...but its a beautiful photo regardless. Feel of the shot definately supports your caption.
  1. Just a note, it is a fashion editorial..thus the focus is really supposed to be on the clothes/model not so much the surroundings. The concept "Fear and Loathing in Hollywood" is thematically a dark concept & the location is a city street late at night...so the use of little flash is intentional.

Thanks for your reply though. If it was a general editorial, not a fashion editorial, or if it had a less dark theme, I might have gone for more environment as you suggested.

  2. Requesting critiques on this fashion editorial shot. I'm looking for

opinions especially from other pro fashion shooters & people who are

    interested in fashion photography.

    Thanks

Interesting shot that obviously required the photographer to have a unique perspective on what/how/where he shot. Liked the subtlety in color/tone/shadows.
