Glenn, the way I understand it, all lenses are pretty much
diffraction limited at about F/22. My question is, are there certain
lenses, or rather types of lenses that hold up better than others
when stopped way down?

How about "Rubbermaid" containers, they have quite a few sizes and
are about as waterproof as it gets. A little foam in the top and
bottom and you should be in business.

David, how do you undo the movements without changing the point of
focus?

After reading all of the "rules" on composition, go out of your way
to break them. Try photographing just the light, let the other things
fall where they may. Also, have a look at the negative space, as
opposed to what you feel is the subject. As far as the lions and
bears go, I find the .44 magnum to offer a bit of comfort...

I`ve often had similar problems, try raising or lowering the humidity
in your darkroom. Steve Clark

Up here in the north, cold dry days create all kinds if interesting
problems, usually at inconvenient times...

Spend some time in galleries and get yourself a Light Impressions
catalog.

Glenn, I have both a 25mm and a 65mm extended tele board for the FA.
I can get a total of about 335mm of extension, however the inside
diameter of the boards is only about 58mm. Depending upon how that
rear element is tapered it may or may not fit on the 25mm board if
the rear element is indeed 50mm long. If the flange focal distance is
261mm on that lens, how close would it focus with 295mm of extension?
Sorry the math fails me right now, do you know the formula for that?
Thanks, Steve

I realize it`s a huge lens, but has anyone tried a 360mm Nikkor tele on a Horseman FA? I can`t seem to find the diameter and length of the rear element anywhere. Thanks, Steve Clark

How are the Apo-Artars for general use/landscape photography, and are they currently in production?

Can`t say anything about the Xenar, but there is certainly no reason
to be afraid of the 135mm Apo-Sironar N. Hand held shooting is likely
to give rise to more sharpness issues than this lens ever will.
Care & feeding of older leather bellows

Dan, I have a 1938, 5x7 with the same problem. What have you found
that works well for patching on the inside that doesn`t stick when
the bellows is folded? I`ve used Kiwis` leather treatment on black
bellows on older cameras, 20`s Brownies, Autographics and such with
good results. As I`ve only used it on one red bellows a while back, I
can`t recall what it did to the color. This was not done merely for
appearance as I enjoy shooting with some of this old stuff.
