Mr. or Ms. Pena, I just took a quick look at your photo library and found your first initial and last name,. It seems to me that you have a great eye, an expert skill level, and lots of artistry.
Regarding your quest for "real advise on gear," PN has a multitude of discussion forums dealing with various categories, configurations, sizes and uses of gear. You probably will find any or all of them helpful. Please see below for a list of these forums.

I took your advice Mark, I went for it a EOS1d mark III should be really good.
Its also a joy to use with old m42 glass being that live view only focuses manually

I finally bought a collapsible photo backdrop for the occasional portraits and used my tether cable for the first time! It had been in my "stuff" drawer for a few years. A friend of mine said she liked the black background more than the white side, so here it is.
I still have to figure out how to handle glare on eyeglass frames.
Black background is beautiful specially in black and white

I suggest prayer. I was in almost exactly the same situation, and just prayed to the photography dieties for a model. SHAZAMM!! Out of the blue I got a call from a friend I hadn't heard from in over ten years, who ten years ago was a drop-dead beauty right out of the pages of Vogue, but who has aged quite nicely. After a "nice to see you again" lunch I saw the opportunity to ask if she'd model for me and she was completely willing. There must be such a thing as a Photo God!!!

I don't know about Olympus 110 SLR but Pentax made the entire system with interchangeable lenses. Minolta made 2 models but they both have non-interchangeable zoom lens. They are cool but I didn't want to get them as quality of the images are poor due to the small film.
Ive seen very sharp images from the first minolta 110 zoom. Images were far from poor quality.
