  1. I am really sorry to resurrect this dead thread, but there is limited info on many things with the Plaubel Makina 670 out there. My Makina displays the exact same light leaking issues as OP's did. I just had it serviced at Amsterdam Camera repair, but did replace the light seals myself a few months before sending it off to Alan. Could you explain more in detail where you found your issues? I checked my seals and they looked fine to me, no obvious area of damage. Thanks in advance!
  2. Trying to sell my Pentax 6x7 MLU including TTL prism and optionally a Pentax 6x7 SMC 165mm 2.8 lens Body is in very good condition, only one mark at the lower left side back door and battery compartment latch. Other than that no obvious marks. Body works nicely, shutter is crisp, shutter speeds sound accurate. TTL prism is in working order. There is a big dent on the top of the prism and some separation of the viewfinder lens, but both do not affect functionality. Lightmeter works. The lens is a last generation Pentax 6x7 SMC 165mm 1:2.8. Glass is without any scratches, aperture blades snappy and free of oil. There is some minor dust specs on the inside and on the very outer perimeter of the lens one small spot that looks like fungus. This does not in any way affect picture quality. Looking for 400 € for Body + Prism, if lens is included looking for 650 €. Open for some negotiation on the price. Located in Austria, Europe, willing to ship worldwide if shipping cost is payed by buyer. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)
  3. Trying to sell or trade my Rolleiflex 2.8 E3 with Carl Zeiss Planar 2.8 Camera is in good cosmetic condition. Mechanically works flawlessly, only the depth of field indicator seems disconnected. Lenses are without any fungus / separation / scratches, coating on taking lens has some barely visible discoloration on some spots. Original focusing screen is bright and clear, only some minor cleaning marks. Camera comes with 2 strap lugs. Without any accessories trying to sell for 1200 € I can add a Rolleinar 2 Bay III in perfect condition with the original leather case and a leather case with lens hood and 2 original Rollei color filters plus a brand new Richard Oleson bright screen for an additional 200 €. Trying to either sell or trade for either medium format 6x7 or larger or some 135mm rangefinder. Price is somewhat negotiable. Based in Austria, Europe, willing to ship worldwide if seller pays for shipping. If you have any questions, please let me know :)
  4. So, I just got the quote from the repair shop, it'll.cost me 330 Euros to fux and complete service. I did not talk to the repair man, but it seems the complete.galvanometrt has to be removed and cleaned. The camera.is in really good shape though and buying another used one will set me back about 300 anyways, not knowing if it works accurately, so I'll go for the repair. Unfortunately not an easy fix and definitely nothing for me to try...
  5. I am very sorry to reopen this old thread, but I cannot dind any answeres to my questions anywhere... I got a Pentax 67 with a beattie intenscreen in it and the spare original one. The fresnel on the beattie makes.some.weitd effect and is pretty messed up, so I changed it back to the oroginal. The matte screen and fresnel are two seperate parts. Now in the repair manual it says, that a 3rd layer, a protection glass is part of the sandwich. Now, in my case, there is no glass! I tried to fit a piece of picture frame glass in (pretty thin), but the whole assembly was too thick to allow for infinity focus. Was the focusing screen of the 67 only two parts and the 6x7 3? Anybody able to help me out here? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey, thank you all for the replies, somehow I did not get notified and forgot about this thread! As Alain wrote, my meter needle also moves more freely or less depending on position of the camera (shooting up or down). That really makes me think it's rather a mechanical problem than electronic. Thank you Dirk for your diagnostics! I have to say, I never was good with electronics and the few times when I tried to solder wires in a camera or a lens it did not end too well... I have the service manual at home, so I'll give it another look. But I really already decided to bring the camera to my local repairman in february... however, I am not sure he will be able to repair this problem for a reasonalbe amount of money, als diagnosing is the main issue here I am afraid...
  7. There are only two sold 2.8 E3 on ebay in the sold items, so not much clues there for me. My 2.8 E is in worse cosmetic shape, and I don't really need the broken lightmeter on it at all. Just bothers me that its sticking out that much. Also the E3 is quite rare... however, that does not seem to make it worth much, does it? I just wondered if there is anybody that recently aquired a E3 for price reference. Pricing is quite strange on the used camera market... If you read on forums some 10 years ago a 2.8F would go for well below 1000€, but nowadays... well... just look at the Contax T2 and T3...
  8. Hello! I got an offer for a Rolleiflex 2.8E3 in good condition, no wear on the lens. Seller asks about 1100 Euros. Is that a good price? I would trade in my 2.8E and would get 550 for that. Trying to sell my 2.8E for a month now and thats the best offer I could get so far. What do you guys think? Worth it? Thanks for your advice!
  9. Battery is fresh, contacts in battery compartment are clean. The battery level button is.on the left side of the lens mount, it indicates your battery level by moving the meter needle in the viewfinder. Because the needle is sticky when pressing this button I suppose it is not a faulty contact in the meter circuit. And yes, I do have experience with repairing an F1 new, so I took off the wind side top cover and tried to blow out any dirt with a blow tool (those rubber things to blow dirt off lenses etc). I did not touch the meeter needle, as it is very fragile.
  10. Hello everybody! I own a beautiful F1 new, I bought it some 13 years ago at the Leica shop in Vienna. It never showed any signs of failure, always very reliable and I travelled a lot with this camera, as it was my mein shooter for over 10 years. Recently I aquired also a Contax RTS II, so I don't use the F1 new that often anymore. So it was last used in summer 2019 and sat unused in my camera shelf since that time. Yesterday I wanted to try it out again and I had to find out, that the meter needle does not react when you press the shutter button, but only if you give the F1 a slight shake or bump with your hand. After that the needle moves freely and fast, only to stick again if it drops down to its resting position. The same happens when I press the battery level button, so I do not think it is a Problem with the metering circuit. It seems more like the galvanometer needle is a bit sticky at its resting position. I had a look under the cover of the rewind side, and if you blow on the meeter needle it seems to move without any hesitation. So maybe a problem within the galvanometer? Did anybody else encounter such a problem before? I want to bring the camera to a technician, however it is not that easy to find a reliable tech-shop and even more difficult to find somebody with a lot of experience in Canon F1's. Ken Oikawa is out of question unfortunately, as I would have to pay import taxes again when receiving the camera back from the US. Thank you for your suggestions and tips! Moriz from Vienna
  11. Wow, I didn't know they could be removed! They are stuck on the 55, 80 and 135 pretty hard, so I have to find a way to remove them without needing too much force
  12. Ah, and by the way, Serial Number is PI 00174
  13. Thank you all for your input, especially you, Orsetto! The camera did not come with original boxes, and it is not in mint condition anymore, as there are some tiny scuffs and one defect in the name plate area. As it was given to me to be used, I do intend to use it, it is a camera, so it does not make any sense to me to keep it only for display purposes. However, I try to take good care of it. As the whole color scheme is quite showy, I'd rather have the black version of it, but so it goes :) Here are some pictures for you guys as a sign for my appreciation for you!
