Just wondering why the the Sigma Sport 150/600 is not on the list. I went through the comparison process a couple of years ago; I've been rather happy with it on my d800. I don't recall the Nikon 200-500 being around when I got it so don't know how they compare. It seems to be quite sharp but does need lots of light. I've even gotten some good BIF shots. There were better lens available but this seemed the best value for me. YMMV...

Nikon 28-70 AF-S motor not working at specific focus distances?

The 28-70 AFS should be on the menu unless it was removed in the past few months. Sent mine in around the first of the year for a different focus issue; had to search through the menu a bit before I could find it ( that is presuming you have the AFS f2.8D). The down side to repairing these old lenses is it can cost over half the value of the lens to repair it but twice the value to replace it. I'm fighting that battle right now with a 80-200 AFS that I'm probably going to replace the new Tamron. -
