  1. Survival of the Fattest" by Jens Galschiøt and Lars Calmar, 2002. The sculpture refers to the economic and social imbalance in the world. The woman holds the scales of justice in one hand, which degenerates into a symbol of self-righteousness in the face of reality. The sculpture is located in the harbor of Ringköbing, Jutland, Denmark. Best regards, Uli
  2. Light is everything. I've been to the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve southeast of Berlin (Germany) twice. But always the light was too bad to photograph. At the end of November a sunny day announced itself in the floodplain and moor landscape. In the Spreewald there are no roads and no cars. From the small town of Lübbenau, our barge glided through the canals. We were amazed at how quiet a landscape can be. The pressure of background noise falls off you, nothing but silence. While the boatman drives the barge through the canals, trees, bushes and meadows glide by. And the sun bathed the Spreewald in brilliant autumn light. Spreewald near the village Lübbenau Shortly before the place Lehde Restaurant by Lehde Waterways in Spreewald Spreewald Spreewald The last rays of sunshine in the Spreewald. . . All the best, Uli
  3. I was standing directly in front of the building and wanted to convey the height of The Cube with the slight tilt to the back in the picture, which obviously doesn't work. Yes, the details. I had focused on the reflection of The Cube's environment.... Unfortunately, I didn't get into the building that day. Let's see if it works another time. Thanks for the comment, that helps!
  4. Ah, a picture before the construction. Hm, I hadn't thought of that. Because there was absolutely nothing here since the end of the Second World War. Here was an open field, which is now slowly being built on. Thanks for the idea. Best regards, Uli
  5. Ready for the winter All the Best, Uli
  6. After a long planning and construction period, "The Cube" is finally in Berlin (Germany). Since the beginning of 2020, people and buildings have been reflected in the broken façade of "The Cube" in front of Berlin's railway station. Inside, more than 3800 sensors monitor people. They open the doors, provide you with information and the lifts automatically take users to the right floor of the eleven levels. The Danish architects from the 3XN office in Copenhagen developed a digital concept for the "smart offices" on Washington Square. Whether this will benefit the work-live balance or the high-tech lifestyle of the users remains to be seen. So far, at least the many visitors to Berlin's main station are enjoying the conundrum of the cube's reflective façades. "The Cube" in front of Berlin Central Station The façade is ventilated and has outdoor terraces Despite the mirroring, plenty of daylight enters the offices A sculpture with 42.5 metres edge length and 19,500 square metres of floor space Kaleidoscope Smart Commercial Building", the future of the office? Does it work as a series of pictures, with some text? All the best, Uli
