"Kindertransport" "Trains to Life" - (Gdansk, Poland) About 10,000 children who were considered Jewish were transported to safety in the years 1938 / 39, mainly from Germany to Great Britain. Most of their families were murdered, only these children survived. Monuments by Frank Meisler to the Journey to Life are in Gdansk, Hamburg; Berlin, Hoek van Holland and London. Best regards, Uli

The picture is from me. Normally I also prefer closed compositions. In this case I diverted from it, when I saw the sunbeam on the top left, which went through the whole cafe. The sunbeam led out of the picture and so I also cropped the glasses on top and the reflection of the glass at 4 o'clock. The idea behind this is that the light is streaming through the cafe and just happens to cross on my table. I see the image center in the color contrast between the copper jar, espresso and the dark blue background of the table. Best regards, Uli -

The street musician

Thank you for bringing Francis Bruguière to my attention. Wow, what a life. Survived the San Francisco earthquake and documented it. Studied with Alfred Stieglitz and especially the experimental works. I watched "Light Rythms." Great. Alright, the work is not catchy, but the images and music are light years more modern than most of what is shown today. All the best, Uli
