we're switching back to database, that went terrible. It will continue to load slowly for you however, I think this was the specific profile that exposed the issue with scaling on the feature.

@#$%^&*()
Hey guys can you visit www.photo.net/my/photos/featured/ "remove" a photo and "add" the photo back as a featured photo, it should then be featured. The data was moved out of a database to an index, a process ran to back-fill all the ones already picked as featured. The DB was too slow for people choosing lots and lots of featured photos.
I'll check and check that on getting that backfilled properly.

Will fix! thanks

Reindexing featured photos right NOW! the featured photos will be indexed for quick display on your profile pages soon.

The way the featured photos are flagged isn't indexed very effectively. The call to ask for them doesn't scale. We tested having 10 to 20 . Higher numbers causes it to timeout. Let me think

please check, the page has been reworked, should be good.

We now have to comply with General Data Protection Regulations from the EU. A lot of things have to start happening for the web this month pretty much for all online companies, yikes! Everyone has to properly accept that an email is allowed to be sent from us to you. Email is handled by a 3rd party, we're getting our 'send/please don't send' process for our various messages approved. "new comment" "weekly newsletter" and so on...

/my/settings/ "biography" text area towards the bottom

will be fixed very soon!

Glenn is in on vacation for a few days, and our OPS guy is also currently away, no school this week, I'm trying to get a hold of them. Of course all this trouble would come up right when they leave.

Our old goofball designer mapped extended Unicode characters to be custom icons. It's an old school way to do it, you find characters that 'nobody uses' and tell your site's CSS to swap in an icon. Apple has taken over most of them now to be used as emoticons. Our newer pages have a custom font mapped for user icons, the explore section on the main website should have them correct.

/my/library is now labeled as just "photos" in the menu, it should take care of everything for you and load and run faster. The uploader will have auto-complete and 'apply all' function added, gallery is: "ABC" / Description is "XYZ"
then you can click 'apply all' to apply quickly to all the photos your uploading at once. thanks

We'll get that fixed! It should have an 'apply all' function to reduce the need to type things over and over. Gallery "XYZ" 'apply to all' Description "ABC" 'apply to all' thanks

Sorry Guys! We've updated the SSL Cert late yesterday to resolve the old one being expired. Photo.net has been updated to an official Wildcard SSL Certificate to consolidate security across our subdomains.
