    the look

What a lovely portrait - hard to believe she is 98 years old! Nice job with the lighting too. You captured a very special moment. You've definitely motivated me to take another portrait of my grandmother. I took some portraits of her when she was 79 years old - she is soon to be 84 so I think it is high time to do it again. Thanks for the inspiration.
  1. Jeff, I would crop out the bud as it detracts from the beauty of the white rose. Also, some of the edges of the rose seem a little bleached out. Overall, I like it though. I love nature/flower photography myself, though I notice that such photos rarely get any feedback here. Too bad because even if the shot looks like a cliche, there is still a visual appeal.

I like this shot - Looks like a stairway to nowhere. Personally, I would have tried a little different angle - to crop out the sign Avenue A entirely - but that's only my personal preference. I think that would have been a more interesting theme. Overall not a bad shot

Nice photo. Only one comment - I was always taught that the placement of the subject should be heading into the picture - keeping in mind the rule of thirds. In your photo- the main subject is walking right out of the picture. If only you could have captured the subject just a few seconds before ... otherwise very nice
