Wow. Any time a shot pulls you in like this one did me, it is a good thing. I can almost feel the pine needles matted under my back. Was the exposure tough to get right? I think I would have just started bracketing like there was no tomorrow...

Wow is right! Have you thought about flipping it to make the large heavy trunk come up from a bottom corner?

I've gotten some comments and several ratings on this photo. People

tell me they like it, but usually don't really seem to say why. What

do you like/dislike about this picture? What drew your attention to

it? Any and all feedback is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What I like about this photo: The dominant tree coming in from the upper left, and the fact that the trees converge slightly off-center. Hope this helps! Great shot, BTW.

Have you ever seen fractals? This picture looks like one. It's very symmetric. I really like how the colors complement each other. The color values almost seem to invert from upper left to lower right corner. This is a very geometric picture with excellent angles.

Excellent photo. And they say "never point a wide angle at the sky". Phooey! Your willingness to break the rules of main stream phoptography thinking has rewarded you with a fine photo Catherine. Very well done. Congratulations.

This is definitely a graphically striking shot in the thumbnail. It works well partly because of the contrast from the darker trees against the lighter sky on the right over to the large, light tree against the darker sky. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold up as well in larger size because of the lack of focus. Time to make use of the massive depth of field you can draw out of that 19mm lens. The wavery line (branch) falling vertically from middle top to lower right is a little distracting, too. Still a striking shot, though.

Enjoy.
