1. Thanks all, very helpful. I've been exploring digital photography for only a couple of years (after working as a photographer in an analog life thirty years ago) so I've much to learn. Selecting aperture priority seemed logical, However I knew nothing about imputing lens data, so I appreciate that information especially.
 2. I recently had a couple of my older metal lenses (35mm f2.8 & 105mm f2.5) converted for use on my D610. They both work fine but I'm interested in any exposure tips for those who've had this done. Currently I've the camera on manual and mode set to 'A,' I'm controlling the exposure using the ISO command. It works fine, but might there be a better way...?
 3.
Thanks everyone. I take Craig's point that contrast is, to some extent, subjective and I guess that's why I was hoping I could adapt (recalibrate?) the Agfa filters to Ilford characteristics. I suppose the difficulty may be an overall loss in range — eg: Agfa grades 0–6 might only equate to Ilford grades 2–4 for example. Robert when you say Agfa filters "loose the right density," do you mean they physically deteriorate through age? The ones I have are certainly old — 20–30 years at a guess — but they're in the original case and sleeves, appear to have been hardly used at all and show no sign of brittleness. Anyway a set of Ilford drawer filters isn't that expensive, I'll probably take your advice, order a set and run some comparisons. Might be interesting.

 4.
I'm equipping a darkroom and among the bits and pieces is a set of Agfa Multicontrast filters. As (sadly) Agfa no longer exists as a retailer, I'll mainly be using Ilford papers — partly because they're the most available here in Canada. So my question is does anyone have any experience using Agfa filters with Ilford Multigrade papers? I imagine they'll work, but do the contrast numbers transfer, more or less, directly? I probably had some idea of this once but it's been 40+ years since I spent any time in front of an enlarger, so any advice is appreciated.
