Agree Gary-- We are the Pentax family; everything from the MX, ES, LX, KX, K1, 645NII, 645Z to the Honeywell Pentax 6x7 and the 67II. Your idea modernizes photo net which is much needed.

Thanks Peter! It was a major pain getting out to this location, with many miles of bad dirt roads. I don't recall if it has ever been published.

Not my best scan. I probably needed to dial back the saturation a bit.

Pentax 67 Extension Tubes-Standard vs. Helicoil
steve_rasmussen replied to ben_hutcherson's topic in Medium Format
I've had the helicoid for 31 years and find it very functional. Its variable length helps prevent adding/subtracting a tube, which always takes time. I use it alone but also with the #2 tube at times when small subjects need to be framed. I like the ability to use the lens helicoid with the helicoid tube. I have never considered switching to the 3 tube option, after using my current setup. -

Thanks Annalane. It was scanned from film using SilverFast software. The film was Velvia 50, so it is pretty rich to begin with. The scan is as close to the original as I could get it.

You should also consider the Fuji 645Zi. It's a rangefinder camera with a 55-90 zoom. Looks like a good travel camera.

Pentax 67-What Have I gotten Myself In-To
steve_rasmussen replied to ben_hutcherson's topic in Medium Format
If you have any further questions about the various lenses, let us know since many of us have had this system since the 1980's and 90's. The zooms are not mentioned much but are used professionally quite a bit. The 45 is an old design and has some mustache distortion but is fairly sharp. It is the landscape workhorse of the system. -
35mm f/3.5 - Comparing 645 medium format lenses
steve_rasmussen replied to ben_attb's topic in Medium Format
Pentax also has a D FA 35mm f/3.5 that is known to be very sharp but pricey. -
Pentax 67 and SMC Pentax 67 165mm f/2.8 lens
steve_rasmussen replied to ana_negri's topic in Medium Format
The AUTO mode is the default mode, to be used unless you put something between the lens and the camera body that disrupts the information flow from the lens (the helicoid tube for example). When this is done, the TTL meter has no idea of where the diaphragm is set, so you have to stop down the lens in MAN to the shooting aperture to get an accurate meter reading. There are 6x7 lenses that don't have this switch because they are manual diaphragm lenses; they are not AUTO lenses.
