A very accurate portrait and w&B which shows like street photography can be a good quality image. Good that you framed him tightly so to exclude disturbing elements.

Lovely maritime town. the scene is very picturesque with the boats in foreground and the clouds above. What makes the image so attractive is also the excellent light.

Lovely blue hour and long exposure picture. I like the two diagonals and how the town protrudes into the void. A very sweet atmosphere.

The dark vignetting and your "vintage"editing created a very intriguing image, I like also the tight framing. It isolated the lady from the surrounding environment and so it's more mysterious and evocative.

The scene you captured is really very appealing and charming. The sky and all those warm tones make the image pleasant, while the rocks in foreground create a sense of depth. It's a pity however that the horizon is tilted. It could be easily and quickly corrected in PS.

The play of light and shadows is very intriguing and the old building has a real charm. It makes me think of a film of the fifties...

I like both the subject and the composition. The only critique I can find is that I'd have darkened a bit the highlights in post production.

Thank you MLM for your workshop. Yes, it's a bit better that way. Actually the original file was even flatter and I had already increased contrast and increased whites and blacks. I could not imagine that it could be further improved.

B&W is not my cup of tea... however inspired by the latest photo of Larry Greenbaum I decided to have a try myself with this old photo which I had never edited before. I'd like to know whether the B&W is well calibrated and if you like the photo. Thanks in advance for your opinion.

I like how the black background makes the flower stands out better and the light is very good showing well all the details of the flowers.

I like the great sense of perspective and depth created by those trunks which leads the eye towards the river and bridge. I think it's a very effective composition and the scenery is quite intriguing.

Interesting remark... however ones should have seen the original colour image to see if it was really plain or mundane... (:-) When I look at a landscape or urban photo the first thing I notice is the interest that it may arise (at least to me). Good architecture or even just a particular aspect of a town or place I don't know, have for me always a certain interest. This is not strictly a photographic value for most people but surely an important part of the photo for me. This is the case here: the river, the two bridges, ect, make an intriguing picture which gives me the idea of the environment in Menneapolis. This is the informative aspect. But the harmony of the composition and the B&W editing created a pleasurable image which can pass even a severe exams (IMO).

I'm impressed by the beauty and efficaciousness of this composition. So simple and yet so powerful and expressive. Your editing is superb and it reminds me the lithography of Gustave Doré. Excellent work.

You are right Tony about the room at the top but with my little compact camera I cannot compose the image as clear as I want because you can't rely on the viewfinder and have to look on the screen, not easy when you are far-sighted (:-). There was some small room over the top (maybe too small) in the original file but when I corrected the lens distortion it was cropped out by the program. Thank your for your visit. Much appreciated.
