Very nice! I wish I could view a large version of this image. I hope Brian restores that feature soon.

Glad you came to your senses, Walter, although Vincent does make a good point. Believe me, I know how you both feel. (-;
And thanks for the additional info on scanning negatives as positives!
-
Very beautiful scene! I too would suggest using your image editor to get rid of what looks like a handrail at the lower right side of the photo.

Walter, I noticed that you renamed the folder containing this photo. Can I assume that this means you've changed your mind about leaving? I hope so. (-:
BTW, the info above on scanning negatives as positives seems like a good approach to me, although I imagine it takes some time getting used to making scanner adjustments based on a negative prescan.

This is a very beautiful and, IMO, very under-rated photo, Linda. Very eye-catching!

Nice capture. She's a cutie!

FWIW, I like the current level of saturation. It adds to the painting-like quality of the photo.

EXCELLENT photo AND presentation! Well done!

Very nice capture, Roberto, of a very beautiful, serene scene. I would be tempted to crop some from the bottom and maybe some from the left side as well.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.
Bartek, I'm starting to take it as a compliment when I receive a low rating from our mutual fan.

Comments and ratings greatly appreciated!

Very nice flower monochrome!

Beautiful composition, Pawel!

I haven't followed the adjustments closely, Steven, but this latest version has a pleasing painting-like quality to it. Very nice!

I just discovered this photo.net article on color to B&W conversion. Haven't tried it yet, but I intend to:

Nice sunset shot, Gaetan.

Read your PN bio, Walter. I'm sorry to see that the current environment may drive you away. I share your general sentiments. I wasn't participating in the Critique Forum during the last great ratings upheaval. However, there's a big difference between then and now. That is that a lot of the people participating in the Critique Forum now are subscribers (paying customers) and my sense is that the majority were pretty happy with the system as it was, warts and all. I'm not sure that the current system will enjoy the same level of customer satisfaction.

Very eye-catching and beautiful composition! Nicely done!

Excellent insect macro! Very well done!

Very nice mountainscape, Dave!

Yet another very beautiful seascape that you've added to your collection, Steven. Wonderful composition, scene, and colors. To me, this is a fine example of how the "rule of thirds" is not really a rule and certainly not an absolute, but rather a guide that does not always need to be applied.

Excellent composition, Martin! Very effective use of B&W.
