1.
Thanks Chris. Do you think agitation as I did could cause such a thin negative?

 2.
Hello,
I developed my first fujifilm superia x tra 400 using chemicals from Rollei Digibase C41 with quite bad results.
Negative is very thin. I used a paterson system 4 with single roll and a thermometer with a K thermocouple that I had at work.
I followed the following procedures:
I prepared developer, bleach, fixer, stabilizer as per instructions.
I warmed up the chemicals placing the bottles in the sink and using hot water (45 C).
Afterwards:
developer 3.15 at 37.8C. agitation by spinning with the stick. the first 15 seconds, and than 10 sec every 30secs
bleach 3.10 at 39C agitation the same as before
stabilizer 4.50 sec at 38C agitation the same as before
fixer 1.15 sec agitation the same as before
The results you can see below:

The film looks severly underdeveloped. The negative is very thin. The lines and number in the holes are barely visible.
THe spots all over the frame may be due to bubbles during the developer. After agitation I did not tap the tank. After
the development I checked readings in boling water and ice to check 100c and 0C.

After the development I checked at university in a climatic chamber with thermocouple:
with chamber set at 37.8 thermometer is reading 36.1. This would mean that during development I was
approximately at 37.8 + 1.5 = 39.3. That's surprising because negative is underdeveloped.
The other cause could be insufficient agitation. while agitating I had the feeling that the chemicals
were not moving that much.
How to you suggest to proceed next roll? Shall I go for inversion instead of spinning keeping other parameters the same? Or shall I increase the temperature/time?
Thanks for your help.
Servus
