  1. thanks for any comment !
  2. Hi Laura ! Thanks a lot for your kind comments! Yes I was lucky enough to visit Japan last Spring, but unfortunately we spent only 9 days there, and due to bad lighting (and my lack of talent) I have very few nice pictures. As I'm a great Japan enthousiast, I plan to go there again at least in Autumn and again in Spring too... Regarding this shot, I must admit I love stone lanterns, I can't help but shoot any I see. I find them so very delicately and amazingly carved... I liked the brigth foreground flowers and the green-and-grey background very much... I also tried to do the same with pink flowers but I think the result is perhaps a little worse... Anyway, thanks again for you warm critique !
  3. Thanks in advance for your critiques, suggestions and pieces of advice!

I prefer the "colour" one, but maybe for your work the BW one would add a little drama?

What a wonderful portrait! This face is full of strength, with a very direct look... The work with the colours is very well done too. Very nice shot!
  6. Very well done! Nice colours, perfect foreground, and unidentified swimmers... Makes me think of holidays! Could it be St Paul's Bay, in Lindos?

I find the fold marks a bit distractive, but the right-most one reminds of the line in the middle of the model's bust so it could be seen as a kind of wink to that... Concerning the other ones, maybe they are a little too disturbing... Overall, a nice work though!

Sorry I can't read this picture.... I find the foremost blurred thingies too distractive, and the background is strange too: the upper part of the wall being the same colour as the sky's make the street light's shadow weird... On the whole, I don't know what I'm supposed to look at or what I'm supposed to feel...
  9. I like the silky-looking mane of these little guys. Nice shot!
  10. this little guy seems to hesitate and looks vulnerable... A very tender shot... Well done!

I particularly appreciate the double contrast : first between the wall colours and the clothes' colours, and between the roughness of the bricks and the softness of the clothes. Very well done !

Nice colours and composition, though the antenna seems to be "severed"...

    within a dream.........7.

A very delicate and soft result. I don't particularly like roses nor pink, but I find this work very pleasant to look at: you did really well. Congratulations !

Hi Warren, thanks for your advice! You're absolutely right ! In fact I already cropped the sides because of other distracting elements, and wanted a roughly square picture, but I'll try and see how it works without the round thingies above... Thanks again, it's been particularly helpful! Stéphanie
  18. Hi guys, your thoughts and advice are very welcome ! Thanks !
  19. Thx for your comment; however, i'm still not happy with the focus on the head, and I think frog would look better if we could see its eyes... Unfortunately, this is a thumbnail poison dart frog, which means the whole bodyis less than 16mm in length, which doesn't help taking good shots...
  20. Thanks Tony for your comments! Cloudy skies enables very nice light but you have to wait and be lucky to get th light where it does something nice. Mostly I was lucky I think ;)

    Bad boy

Thanks all for your comments! yes it's a lizard, a gecko named Rhacodactylus (or Correlophus) ciliatus. It's usually up to 20cm long, is endemic from New Caledonia and often found as exotic pet because it's hardy, not too speed and very interesting to watch.
