<p>I can now come on here once a week and in 15 minutes, read all the new posts.</p> <p>WHAT HAPPENED? Did the weeds take over the garden? Why are new posters being scared away? Did the board not get policed properly? Did the pro photogs who wanted to help mentor the new photographers get drowned out by the know-it-all boisterous ones? I'd really like to know.</p> <p>I really wish this could be turned around because at one time 3 or 4 years ago, it was a heck of a forum to learn and bounce ideas off each other. Now it is only crickets chirping.</p> <p> </p>

<p>The bride, groom, wedding party and family are each going to like and dislike photos of themselves at certain angles... this is normal.. no one loves all images of themselves.. it's the rare find to find one you really like.</p> <p>That is what you deliver lots and lots of images. Just my 2 cents worth.</p>

<p>What is the best way to fine tune focus a lens? I've tried it with a tripod, single point focus, using a yard stick on an angle... but still not happy with my "judgement" on where the exact focus point is.</p> <p>Help!</p>

<p>My simple thoughts:</p> <p>1) If in doubt about enough light (unless you are told to not use flash), use flash. If have to use no flash, sacrifice noise for faster shutter speed.<br> 2) I agree, should be delivering at least 350 images for that many hours work.<br> 3) Not being able to talk to the client directly was a terrible handicap for you. You've got to talk about style and expectations if you want to please them.<br> 4) Chalk this up to experience and learn from it. Every new thing I have gone into photographing, no matter how much I practice, I learn twice as much from the major and minor mistakes I made shooting it for real the first time. Learn and come back stronger next time.</p> <p>Good luck!</p>

<p>a good all around starter lens with an incredibly wide range of field is the 18-200mm - you can get a used one for about $400 or so.</p>
