I know this thread is over three years old. Hower, I thought it a good place to start based on this threads' content. I'm
kind of new and not sure if this is a good, or even approved, approach. Long story short, I've been infatuated with
cameras ever since my father picked up his Zeiss Contaflex Super BC in 1966. Anyway, I could turn that story into a
history book.
Fast forward to today. I'm a camera nut that still loves film, apparently I'm in some mighty fine company here. Anyway I
often peruse eBay and Craigslist for deals I can't refuse. Last week was good, too good really. I ended up with a Nikon
F100, MB-15 data back and SB-20 flash, all like new. Also, I ended up with a Minolta 9xi, HS-9xi hand strap, BP-9xi
battery and a QD-9 databack also, all like new. I guess patience is a virtue!
It seems the 9xi is captivating much more attention. It's proving to be a little bit of a challeng, not having the manual for
use at my fingertips. I'm managing mostly because I had a 7000i in the past that I became fairly proficient with, but it's
been put away nearly 15 years. As others have stated, it's got a great feel and heft and there's no mistaking it's styling is
all 90's.
I am most certainly am an aquisition addict. I aquire a little of this and a little of that so to speak. After forays with Nikon,
Canon, Pentax and Olympus, I guess it was time to finally start back with some Minolta items
I was originally looking at some of the manual series like SRT-201, XD-11 and XE-7 but happy, I found this. Good also,
because I already had a host of AF lenses along with the old 7000i. At this time I won't bore you with any lackluster
results. However, I will keep things updated along with any questions I might have.
If somebody happens to know where I might find the Creative Expansion Card - Custom Function Card marked with a
yellow square and "Cu XI", please let me know.
