Measure the light falling on the background and adjust it to be 3 stops less than the
subject.
That will gives u a black background.
Cheers!

hi everyone,
i am using a Epson 7800 with the photo black ink.
All of my work are printed on matt surface,so i am wondering if i can save abit of ink by changing the
photo black ink when it is very low (1%)? to the matt black ink without flushing out photo black ?
anyone done it before?
will it mess up the whole ink tube ?
thank you all in advance!
Happy New Year !

thank you for all the advices given,
does the SB-600/800 still fire a preflash when i bounce it to get TTL?
or it can be done without a preflash ??
thanks.
-
Does iTTL works with pre flash metering only?
i really dun like the pre-flashing function due to the lag.
last time with a F5+SB-28 setup, i just need to dial in +1.5 on the flash when i bounce it
off a white card, the flash fires off immediately.
Can the SB-800/600 + D70 work the same way?
thank you..

Hello all,
i been using the SB-28 on my D70 all along on auto mode, recently the flash recycling time is getting
very slow..
i tot of getting the SB-800/600 to replace it for use on my D70,i'm curious to know whether the iTTL
still works when i bounce the light ? +/- 1 stop accuracy?
i'm usually 2-5m away from the subject indoor/outdoor.
another question i have is whether the SB-600 flash have auto mode? nikon website dun seems to
mention it..
thanks..

Hi all,
i recently bought a roll of ilford smooth canvas 24" roll for my Epson 7800 printer, but i
realised they do not have the printing profile for my 7800 !
Anyone tried to request a profile from ilford website? i tried, but there is no reply for
2wks..
Any other source to get a profile for my printer?
i'm from singapore if that helps.
Appreciate any advice.

Hi,
i do 24x36" enlargement on my Epson 7800 printer regularly, you will get a very very high quality print from a 4x5 film.
i scan my 4x5 slide with my Imacon Flextight scanner at 1800ppi and resize it to 300 dpi @ 24x36"
Printout is very good even when u view it up close.

i use HC 110 at approx 1:20 with Tmax film with very good result.
i will add 20ml of HC110 and top up to 400ml and start developing at 19 deg for 10mins with a mild agitation every 2mins..

i wrap my all trays with those plastic wrap used to preserve food.
Very effective and cheap way to combat scratches.

Hi all,
i just exposed ard 8 shots one by one but all turn out clear after
developing in ilfosol 1:9 20deg 10mins and hypam fix 6 mins then wash.
i checked all my film loading procedure and they matched paul Butzi
website tutorial on film loading,i inserted the film holder in and
even detach the bellow to check the film is in place. But still the
film turn out clear, nothing at all just like a piece of transparency.
i suspect it is the developer problem and throw a piece of unexposed
sheet opened in the light into the developing tray and start
agitating,But the sheet film(Tmax400) remain to be purple in color
after 8mins of agitation in the light.
Are exposed film supposed to purple after developing ?i believe they
should turn black after developing,right?
If so,does dat means my developer is dead ?
I just develop a roll of ilford 120 last week with the same bottle of
ilfosol without any problem.
What could be the cause of it?
Or should i get a bottle of D76 to develop the 4x5 Tmax400 film ?
Thank you~!

Hi everyone,
i'm in the midst of learning LF camera operation thru online reading.
One thing that got me puzzled is how does the focused image on the
Groundglass get projected sharply on the film loaded behind it?
are there any good website on LF ?
many thanks~!
