1.
Hello all,
For about 2 years I have been the happy owner of a jobo atl 2-plus developing machine without any troubles.
However, recently there seems to be the following problem occurring: When checking on the temperature of the chemicals the readings are not accurate at all. Either I see an extreme fluctuation, for example when i warm up to 38c the reading will for a few seconds be 38c, and then go completely crazy from 39c to 43c back to 37c and so fort, all within seconds. OR it reads a more consistent but very false temperature, for example when warmed up to 38c it will stick around 44c. Of course I checked with an external thermometer and in both cases the temperature was in fact a nice 38c.
All tough it is quite easy to work around this problem by using an external thermometer to check on the temperature and using the ATLs built-in function to ignore its own temperature readings, I would of course prefer to be able to trust on the machine completely. Therefore i would very much like to solve this problem.
When I first got the machine I had to calibrate the thermometer. I'm doubting if another calibration would solve this problem because my problem is not only a consistent deviation but also the fluctuating temperature readings which by the way always seem to be around the actual temperature which makes me believe that the thermometer is in fact calibrated correctly and that the problem lays somewhere else.
The temperature readings I get from the water bath are still very accurate btw, so this is just about the probe that goes into the chemical bottles.
One more thing, I didn't test this enough to be sure about it, but it seems that the problem increases drastically when the temperature is rising. So when, during warm up, the temperature is still in the 20c-30c the readings seem to be much more accurate.
Suggestions!?
Thanks in advance,
Abel
