Wonderful skyline. Wonderful reflection. I The golden shades and the featureless facades of the buildings gives it a haunting quality. emb

I think you have captured the rhythm of the place beautifully. For me it is a lesson in what BW can bring out by what it leaves out. thanks. emb

Thanks for your interest and the suggestion. I have tried the BW and I like the BW look on this picture. I may have to try that more often. ed

    Three old men

For me your picture captures the drama of everyday life. Th deep space on the left draws my eye in and invites me to wonder about the lives of these men. emb

Quite a beautiful image. Also I find it amusing that she seems to be holding the bottle as though she were playing a musical instrument. emb

I think public benches provide a wonderful way to portray human diversity. this image is particularly nice as these two different people both seem to be concerned with something in their hands [screens, or is he holding cigarettes]. Their distance also conveys something of the fears of public spaces. thanks for the picture. emb

    Father and son

A very nice 'father' picture. I like the way the composition creates a context for the figures and the way the son is looking at something the father is doing. Learning. Their common posture also gives it an intimacy. emb

Lifts and under siding seem always to be begging to have their picture taken, but are hardly ever in a relationship that works. You've gotten that perfectly. And green and orange to boot. What fun. ed

The wonderful contrast of color and dark, especially the line emerging from the dark, remind me of Eggleston. I will keep it as a favorite. ed

  1. I like the composition. My eye moves around from the artist to the drawing to the mother and the river. The young woman's apparent awareness of the photographer, of having her picture made twice is at first distracting. Then I thought that her awareness of having her picture made twice is in some ways the subject of the picture. To be beautiful and gazed at. Perhaps that is what the mother worries about. Thanks for a very interesting image. ed

    A gift...?!

Cute shot. I especially like the ambiguity of what is going on. It creates interest and draws me into the scene. I was recently looking at seventeenth century Dutch Genre Paintings and thinking about how like street photography they are. This image, it seems to me, in that genre as well. I am back online after a few months in the country. I will enjoy checking in on your work. All the best, ed
