Scott: I did not prewash Rollei PAN25 when I developed my three rolls in AM50. Unfortunately I don't know the developing times in Xtol. Maybe Robert can help.
-
According to my sources AM50 does not work well with Delta 100 but AM74 does. So, because I have received good results with AM74 and Delta 100, that's why I wanted to compare it with Rollei PAN25 in AM50.
OK, maybe I should have tested Rollei PAN25 in AM74, too. But I did not have time to do that, or test it with any other developer either. Well, as I said, this wasn't a scientific test - and maybe not even a fair test. Have a nice day. :)

Rollei PAN25 has less grain, but Delta 100 is quite close of it. If I need almost grainless film and slower shutter speeds or bigger apertures are not a problem, I would definitely pick Rollei PAN25. But it depends, what you want to shoot.

I compared 35mm Ilford Delta 100 (developed in Amaloco AM74) and Rollei PAN25
(developed in Amaloco AM50) films. This wasn't a scientific test, because I used
different cameras and lenses. Enjoy.

About the price and release date of this lens. Here is e-mail directly from Zeiss:
---
"Dear Mr. Suominen,
Thank you very much for your enthusiastic comments about the Sonnar 1.5/50.
The series production of the lens will be started before Photokina, and the
retail price will be just slightly higher than that of the Planar 2/50.
Best regards

I'm not an expert on MTF curves. So can someone tell me, what is the main differense in these two MTF curves? Is Sonnar 1.5/50 ZM as good as Planar 1.4/50 ZF with full aperture?
These b&w images were done with Vuescan and Super Coolscan 4000 ED
Films were Tri-X, Neopan Acros and Rollei Retro 100.
I also bought a Nikon film scanner (Coolscan 4000) about a year and half ago. Now I'm shooting and developing even more b&w film than before: about 50 rolls per year. :) Mostly Tri-X 35mm in Xtol but also Neopan Acros in Fuji Microfine or Amaloco AM74. I don't have a space for darkroom, so the film scanner is my only option at the moment. I uploaded some of my b&w shots to Flickr slideshow at .

There is also some comments at the bottom of this page

Emilio Morenatti replied my e-mail that all his Afghan Pixs have
been taken with Digital Nikon DH an DX.

Here are some detail scans from Acros 100 35mm and Microfine

I ordered 3 x 1 litre bags Microfine and 30,5m bulk roll of 35mm Acros from Megaperls Webshop. The Small Packet Airmail (Economy) shipping cost was 11.76 euros from Japan to Finland. The packet arrived in a week or in five working days. So I don't think that the shipping cost was too high.

Does anyone know how many rolls of 35mm or 120 film there is in the wooden box? I found a pdf-file from Rollei website www.rollei.de and
according to it, the box holds 61 135-36 films or 66 120 films!

How about using Nikon MV-1 Data Reader with Linux? I think it should work also with Nikon F5.
There is a discussion about MV-1 at Nikonias.org webpage http://www.nikonians.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=read_count&om=1326&forum=DCForumID61

I'm not sure about this, but maybe Sony Hi-MD optical minidiscs are more reliable than hard drives? They are also cheaper - about 7 euros or 7 USD - than 1Gb CF-cards. Unfortunately Hi-MD minidisc can only hold 1Gb data, so you'll need quite many of them... :( And of course you'll need also a Hi-MD Walkman - plus another for backup - and a MCMD-R1 memory card reader for Hi-MD Walkman + AAA/AA size batteries to power the reader and Walkman.

I found a Japanese data sheet of Neopan F here:
http://www.fujifilm.co.jp/bw/img/ds_ti_pdf/013ai163a.pdf
(It is from Fuji's page http://www.fujifilm.co.jp/bw/data.html)
I can't read it, but maybe there is some information to people who can.
-
I would also like to know, is it available in Europe? Can't find it here in Finland.
It would be interesting to develop Neopan Acros with Fuji Microfine and see, if it makes a finer grain than other fine-grain developers.
