All around i think, im starting and cant say i have develop a style yet. I just want to learn as much as i can!
-
Ok i know what you mean. Im sarting to get results with my kit lens. Im starting to get better results. But often find myself
in situations where i need more aperture. Other thing is glare, the other day i was shooting at night and notice glare in my
puctures, i've read in some places that this is due to the lens sometimes. Might be that might have been other thing.. Cant
really say as im a newby as you may know.
So every advice is welcome. I wont get mad or anything if i get a strong answer. If anything ill learn from experience,
which are you guys.
Thanks and God bless.

Hi guys,
I was in a found rasin event today. As it was indoors i tried to use my lens with its widest aperture in 55mm wich is f/ 5.6 and an iso of 800
to get decent pictures but not quiete what i like as movement on peaople almost ruined my sharpness everytime. How and which settings
should i use to take a flash photo, in this case im using the in camera flash for now.
Again i steped out for a little as my brother put on a costume and i wanted to take some pics of him. It was around 630pm sun was low
but didnt manage to get him and the sky exposure at the same time... I exposed for the sky and recompose and use the flash to get him
but it wasnt that pleasent. I dont know how to use my flash and with wich settings and if my. Flash aint siuted for the job...
PD: im shooting in manual.
Please help, i know you all have some tups on this :)
Thanks,
Taino

Andrew,
Ive tried it with my d3100 and it does not work doesnt lock the settings as in manual i understand now that is you who
need to lock it changing aperture and shutter until the expisure meter tells you the "correct esxposure"
Thanks,

John i might have posted the wrong picture. But how do you know the settings? How do you check the embedded info?
But yeah how did that image came out? Im still dont know how a proper exposure comes out. I know it depends. But I still
cant be a judge.
Thanks! GB

Wouter:
No harsh at all i need this kind of advice! Im about to take a course this agust. And this sunday hopefully im attending a
seminar. So no harsh at all i need this to learn :)
-
Leslie:
Thanks, yeah He just a friend and he told me to later get a nice zoom lens. This will be mu first wedding and i heard is a
good lens for details. Rings, portraits, arragements ect. I will get a zoom lens to. Wich one do you suggest?
Down a stop? Sorry for making to many questions :/
-
Sorry for my ignorance :) i do not know what APS-C is. I have a nikon d3100. I know the 50mm is a prime lens wich dosnt
zoom. Bit can create nice bokeh and is great in low light...
-
Hi all,
I was wondering what is this lens good for. I know is a wide lens but i dont know if its great. I havent got a great sharp pucture with this
one. Maybe is because i dont know how to use it yet or my cam at the fullest. So its the nikkor 18 - 55mm af 3.5 - 5.6.
Im planning to get the 50mm 1.4 af as im assist a photographer in a wedding and i read that is good in low light because of its aperture.
-
Thanks to you all!!
Those kind of things is what i need!
Doug: What you said of put my cam in auto and the revise wich setting it uses to learn from it and then doit myself is one
of the things that i sometimes do when i can get the proper exposure so thanks for the advice as i now know that in doing
something right :)
Alan:
The way you explain it is very simple to understand so im going to try what you say with out allways relying in full auto. I
dont want my camaera thinking for me instead of the other way around. I will take it to learn everything that i can to know
to visualize what the final exposure will be with each setting and then control it myself... I think thats what i can
understand of about what your saying!
Thanks!
-
Thanks a lot!
When you say auto you mean auto auto or switch between A / S / P? I have a nikon... 3100. Im beggining a course this
august in wich they say they will guide me tru manual mode...

PS: i find myself in the same position as Jolie here... Very confused :)
Photo does not look the same after exporting.

Ok,

So i have tried what you said Don. David Lightroom save changes automatically.
Don:
What you said still doesn't fix my issue. I had sharpness applied in the photo and took it off but still grain comes in. The thing is that the photo is underexposed, im exposing it "correctly" in lightroom and that looks to be the problem. At least that what a friend told me. The weird part is that in lightroom the photo looks great but when i Export it, it comes out correctly exposed but with Grain.

He said that theres an option to fix this issue in lightroom but he cant remember what is.
Hope you guys can come up with an idea. Is very frustrating! :)
