    Thank you for the comments. Here is the secret - the light you see in the center of the photo is NOT the sun. It a very bright light atop the control tower on Eielson Air Force Base. This is not even a sunset shot. It was taken well after sunset, during the interior Alaskan summer twilight hours. We get some great colors on the horizon throughout the entire night this time of year.

    This is a long exposure of 10 minutes. It was taken in the twilight hours in interior Alaska. Twilight lasts the entire "night" up here this time of year. No filters were used. Comments/critiques welcome.

    This is a photo of the Aurora Borealis taken in North Pole, Alaska. This was taken late in the season (19 Apr 2014) so the sky was no longer getting completely dark. The light on the horizon is from the moon rising. CC and critiques please.
