    <p>I've seen this issue many times...Windows straight by itself can have all kinds of trouble with DVD full of large images. Try using Lightroom to import the files off the disc, it should do it very quickly. You'll be amazed.</p>

    <p>Is it Lightroom 5.4 or 5.5.? I've had nothing but bizarre bugs with those versions.</p>
