Your photos are some of the best I have seen on Photo.net. They leave me speachless!
-
Looks so artistic!
-
I bow to you!
-
I am speachless!!!!

I agree with Henri and think B&W would be better, the light is not very interesting for it to work as a color photograph.

This was part of my Death Valley trip that I took in July. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
This was shot around 8:30 PM after sunset.

Would love to know your opinion. This is part of my

I think its a great picture for firsts!

Chris,
I love that pic. I like how the clouds on the RHT corner balance the tufa formation on LHB corner and the awesome colors. I have some Mono Lake pics of my own in my portfolio but not as good as yours.
Carl,
I think probably Chris is just mentioning the type of lens when he says "Canon 50mm f1.8" and probably not the aperture he took the pic at.
-
Probably I would have cropped out a little of the dark bottom. Great image.

Is it just me or is it true? Looks like people are giving mean rating to others who are above them in the "Top Member rated photographers" list so that they can go ahead in the list?
-
This is a photo of some statues at the Ghost town Rhyolite north east of Death Valley. I guess the "originality" credit goes to the sculpturer/Artist who originally built it.

Thanks K.H for your comment!
I would like to hear from the rest of the viewers what you think of this photo. Any way to make it better? Or do you like it just the way it is, especially when you take the trouble to rate it. Thanks for looking at my Photo! Comments are greatly appreciated.

This is my first major BW assignment. Please rate and comment.
Feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your kind comments.

I see that many people are looking at this photo, but I am not getting any ratings or comments. Would really like your ratinngs or/and comments
Thanks for taking your time.

I need to explain why I asked the people who rate it low for originality to state their view.
I see that majority of the comments for most of the photos uploaded for critique are positive and say that they have given higher rating to the image. But the ratings do not match up with the type of the comments, which makes me think that there are many people who do not think a photo is great and rate it lower. Over all it would lead to a more balanced discussion rather than a list of kudos which may not really provide any feedback in terms of technique/skill. Ofcourse I love these comments...helps my self esteem I guess beleive it or not... but the negetive ones would make sit up and think.
Sharing your opinions even when they are negetive helps the photographer (if she/he is interested) and also other subscribers. Helps them understand how you define the term originality and gives a reason to go beyond first impressions.

Its a great shot Jay!
Can you all who give such a low score for originality explain why you think this an "unoriginal" shot? Have you all seen this before with so many planes in such a tight formation? Would love to know your point of view.
-
What do you all think? Is this better than the other one in my
portfolio in Death Valley folder? Please comment.
-
Even though the frontal may seem "unoriginal" the actualphoto when you consider all the aspects is very original. The low ratings puzzle me ofcourse, as usual.

Taken in Bulb more in Epcot, no manipulation other than cropping on
the sides.

Is it too busy?
