I really like this, what do you think?
Trade you ratings if you're game...

Very nice image Erik!
The white trees seem like clouds which makes the buildings look like mountains rising from the fog. Quite a beautiful effect, especially considering that in visible light this is probably an ordinary cityscape.
That said, the picture obviously tilts to the left and I there are obvious JPG artifacts. A cleaned up version (possibly b&w) would make this really stand out from the rest of your infrared pictures (IMHO). Keep up the good work!

I shot this with an 89b infrared filter (Harrison & Harrison) at +1
stop. The #89 filter allowed some visible red light into the scene
which really popped out when I adjusted the contrast. I definitely
prefer a #87 in most cases but the red light that got through really
makes the barn stand out.
What do you think? I'd love to trade ratings with you, just drop me
an e-mail if you're interested.

Very interesting! I'd like to see a more detailed scan. Also the left side of the image seems to be a lighter than the right.
-
Yes, I'm afraid this doesn't do much for me. I'd suggest looking for specific angles that show off the geometry of the card, or specific components that are visually appealing. Be sure to compose your shot carefully and make sure it's lined up squarely. Most importantly keep shooting!
-
This is a really unique picture, great job! I think it could have really benefitted from a little more planning before taking the shot. Another angle might have given you a better overall composition. What could you do to minimize or eliminate the slanting line (wall?) in the foreground? Maybe framing the faucet more tightly would do it? Interesting subject!
-
I like it as well but I'm not sure why. Could you give us a bigger scan?
-
I don't find her shoulder distracting but I think this might be more powerful if it wasn't so tightly framed. Nice job, this is definitely the best image you've got uploaded.
-
You're not kidding about the light, it's amazing! Nice job catching the rays.
-
Ok so the comments I've gotten so far on this suggest that I crop
the top part of the picture but that's my favorite part! I really
like the way the foreground, clouds, and sky divide the scene into
rough thirds.
I'd love to hear your opinions, ratings, etc.

I love it! The image is attractive in the first place and there's nothing better than taking a closer look and finding elements like those reflections. Almost hidden but once you notice they make the image. I would adjust the tilt though, the lean is distracting to me.

I like the lagoon picture in my portfolio better, but some people
like this. What do you think?

I like it! Give us a shot that doesn't cut off the edges if you've got one.

Here's the original shot.

This is an overturned snail. I took a number of pictures, but I
like this one because it has more color than the rest (I screwed up
the lighting after this shot). My girlfriend and I disagree about
whether I've gone too far with the saturation in PS. Maybe I've
been shooting too much Velvia but I like it this way :)
What do you think? I'll attach the original in the comment section.
Thanks in advance for your comments,

Thanks Guy that's a great idea!
I'll play around with the full size image some more and post the results.

I found this at the Hoover dam. Please let me know what you think.
Should I crop part of the left side? Does it do anything for you?
All comments are appreciated.

If anyone is interested I'd be happy to rank your images (best to
worst) if you do the same for me. Like all new photographers I'm
trying to learn how to critically evaluate my own work and I think
that might be easier than direct criticism. E-mail me privately if
you're interested.

In some ways this can be seen as just be another vacation snapshot. In other ways, this picture conveys a sense of loneliness to me, the solitary elephant on a gray day.
Maybe experiment with cropping and see if you can come up with something to reinforce that. And give us a better scan!
-
Agreed on both the tilt and the cropping.
I've been to Chichen Itza several times but unfortunately before photography was a hobby :) I think it's great that you chose to show the back of the pyramid, most shots I've seen show the two restored sides. This is an awesome comparison of the restored vs. decayed temple, I just wish it wasn't cropped. Got any others?
-
Agreed, my first thought was that the use of a GND would have probably made a huge difference.
-
I really like this shot of the Space Needle in Seattle. What do you
think? I've thought about cropping or retaking this so it's not so
centered, what do you think?
I'd really appreciate your rating even if you don't feel like
commenting.
Thanks,

I added a black & white version to my portfolio, I'd love to know which you like better!
-
Actually I took this with an 89b infrared filter that lets some visible light through. I slightly overexposed it to pick up more of the visible light from the sky. Aside from slight cropping and contrast adjustment, this is pretty much unchanged.

I like this! I think it's a good representation of a winter evening. You mentioned in your comment that you wished you'd have had a level tripod, why not use Photoshop to "level" the picture out?
Nice job.

The foreground is underexposed but I really like the colors in this
shot. What do you think?
