Canon Rangefinder lens parts?
dinis_leal replied to alonsoroy's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras
I had a missing retaining ring for a Nikkor 10.5cm rangefinder lens one time and found something that would work to keep the rear element in the right place in the retaining ring bin at my local Ace Hardware store. It might be worth a trip to you local hardware store. -

I was lucky to get one for a good price. If I'm ever able to cobble an adapter together, I will post the details here. -
Mamiya Press Flange Focal Distance Question
dinis_leal replied to dustinbetterly211's topic in Medium Format
Thanks for the reply! I have the 100mm 2.8 and was wondering if it would be interesting on my Nikons as a portrait lens. I couldn't quite come up with a way to attach it. I do have the Mamiya extension tube set, but I could never figure out the thread size of the tubes that are threaded. But that might push me out beyond infinity anyway. -
Mamiya Press Flange Focal Distance Question

Orsetto, I was wondering what do you use to connect the Nikon K extension tube to the Mamiya press lens when you attach it to your Nikon DSLR? Thanks! -
Hi all. After working normally for awhile, my Bronica EC now raises the mirror every time I wind it on to cock the shutter. Something in the mechanism must be out of sequence. Has anyone ever experienced this with their Bronica EC, S2, S etc,? It's like having mirror lock up on every shot. Maybe there is a simple fix.... Many thanks!

Any recommended Mamiya Press Lens Repairers?
dinis_leal replied to dinis_leal's topic in Medium Format

Thanks for the advice guys. I was able to partially disassemble it from the mount. I was able to get to the helicals and apply a little solvent which did not really help. I can't disassemble it any further without taking the shutter out. I will try and warm up the lens with the sun and see if that helps. I was hoping it was dried up grease.
-
Any recommended Mamiya Press Lens Repairers?

By the way, I'm located in the United States.
-

Hi all. I just acquired a nice Mamiya Press 250mm f5 lens. It's in great condition except for the focusing. It is completely jammed at infinity. Can anyone recommend someone that works on Mamiya press lenses? Many thanks!

I actually called Nikon with just this question about a year ago when I was considering buying a used D600. They indicated that shutter sensor servicing would still be honored on a used D600. I would call to double check that it is still the case. I ended up buying a used D610 in the end though due to the price differential being fairly small. Best of luck!

Question about mark under the front element of a Nikkor 35mm 1.4 Ai-s
dinis_leal replied to dinis_leal's topic in Nikon

Here is a better photo. The red arrows point to where I am seeing the marks. It looks almost like the black paint has been rubbed off under thee edge of the front element. Thanks for any ideas!

-

Question about mark under the front element of a Nikkor 35mm 1.4 Ai-s
dinis_leal replied to dinis_leal's topic in Nikon

Sorry, it was a quick cell phone photo I took last night. The two circular lines are under the outer edge of the glass near the rim. They run from about the 11 o'clock position to the 8 o'clock position in the photo. I will take a better photo tonight. I normally would not mind something like that, but I am planning on selling it and want to make sure I describe it well and am not passing on an issue.
-

Hi guys,

So I just received a late model Nikkor 35mm 1.4 Ai-s lens. It looks mint except for this white 3/4 double circle under the front element. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I did some preliminary testing with the lens and sharpness does not seem off. Thanks!

misc filter etc giveaway
dinis_leal replied to david_carroll4's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras

David,

I could use the 52mm Canon Haze filter, the Nikon 52mm linear polarizer (if that hasn't been claimed yet), the 62mm metal cap, and the 72mm metal cap. Any miscellaneous filter you might have in the 52mm size would be helpful for my Nikkors... Many thanks for the kind offer!
-
Sony NEX F3 vs 5N for LTM Lenses
dinis_leal replied to dinis_leal's topic in Mirrorless Digital Cameras

Thanks for the advice guys. I was looking through the F3's manual and it indicates it can take the external viewfinder. So I could use the viewfinder and its popup flash at the same time, which would be nice. The touch screen would be useful though. The 6 looks sweet, but it would be double the price...
-

So, I have a nice collection of Canon LTM lenses (35mm 2, 50mm 1.8, 100mm 3.5, and 135mm 3.5) that I would like to shoot digitally occasionally with an adapter. I did not want to spend a lot since this is for occasional use only. I have narrowed my choices down to a used NEX F3 or 5N. They are almost the same price used. I like that the F3 has a built in pop up flash. I think the 5N has better high ISO. Other than that they are pretty similar. They both have focus peaking for manual focus. Anything I am missing? Thanks!
