Hi everyone,
for a performance I will be developing gelatine silver prints in daylight, having the images appearing only for a moment and then disappearing in the overexposed black.
I was wondering, what is the slowest speed paper on the market?
I'm trying to expand that moment to when the image is visible as much as I can, therefor planning to use very slow paper, as well mixing a very weak developer (which one would you recommend?). Also I guess that overexposing the print on the enlarger will give a bit more of a chance for the image to stay.
If you got any other ideas please feel free to share.
Thanks a lot

Guys thanks so much.
I really don't understand why, but I tried to download it on a different and better computer and it worked out. :)
I was trying directly from the camera.
I'm glad this is solved, I still don't really understand why it worked out on the other computer.

Thanks again anyway, have a good day

Please,

I really need some help.
While filming a video with a Nikon D610, the battery went off and the camera shut down.

Now the video file cannot be downloaded, but it can be played in the camera.

It's on a SD Extreme pro 16gb.

I really need some help, it's very important footage and I'm quite panicking.

What can I do?

Thanks to everyone

Thanks a lot everyone.

Craig, I found it! It's called the Polariod Big Shot..it's exactly what I was looking for. Now I gotta figure out the magic-cube flash situation, which is kind of a pain in the ... :|

Thanks, anyway!

Thanks Brian..
yeah, some time ago I heard about Fuji discontinuing their polaroid film, but I'm getting kind of confused, cause it's apparently still on the market..

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, I'll contact that website and see what they say.

For the film...maybe I would prefer type 100 film. But I'm not that decided honestly..

For my needs I would say i need something around a 80mm (or better a 105mm) for 35mm, not sure what's the equivalent when it gets to polaroid cameras..

For the Graphic press, thanks for the suggestion, but I think I'm really looking for for something smaller/faster/etc...the sharpness of the pictures is not a huge concern..
I mean, even a crappy polaroid camera with a long lens would work..

thanks,

Hi everyone.

I'm thinking about buying a polaroid camera..

The thing is I need a camera with a long lens so i can shoot close up head shots (thomas ruff kind of frame).

Any suggestion?

Is my only option going for a camera with interchangeable lenses?
If so, which one?

Is there any polaroid camera out there with a long fixed lens (so the viewfinder is already adapted to that)?

Size of the camera is a concern. (I need to be relatively quick)

Viewfinder is a concern. (I need to pay attention to composition)

Price..not too much of a concern..kind of :)

Thanks a lot,

Sorry, I thought that placing my question in the "tungsten lighting" section it wouldn't have been necessary to specify.
Anyway yes, I'm talking about fresnel lens lights, as Mole-Richardson, Arri etc.

thanks

What effect/problem can be caused by a scratch on a fresnel lens?

Thanks,

Hi,
I generally push trix to 1600 a lot, mainly with xtol and tmax dev. Good results.
But right now i'm looking for more grain.
So i thought Rodinal. Not really what I want. The grain seems to get a lot bigger. I don't want that. I want small grain, but a lot of it.
What would you recommend for trix 1600?
Thanks,

Yes, but with the S2 I would need an external viewfinder to shoot with a 28mm or 35mm lens.

-

Thanks so much guys.

Today I was thinking about it a lot, and I understood that probably I would use this rangefinder camera often with 28mm or 35mm lenses..
I don't know how comfortable is shooting with an external viewfinder and how much space takes.
Damn, cause if so, the choices are all probably too expensive for me. Cause there would be the Nikon SP, the Leica M3, the Zeiss Ikon..All of those have the same range of prices. For the body I would like to spent maximum 500 usd. So i'm really thinking about the Bessa R2.
What's your opinion about the external finder?

Thanks,

Francesco

Thanks everyone.

I think the Canon 7 looks kind of too big. Is it? I'm trying to find something that I can always carry around without any problem.
Probably I'll end up with the Bessa cause a friend of mine can sell it to me for a good price. even though I'm still tempted by one of these other models..
I'll probably go to check the cameras to adorama or bh to see how I feel them.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a rangefinder.

Reading around the website and looking at prices I ended up with these two models. Zeiss Contax and Nikon S2.
Of course I thought about the Leica M3 but it's off budget.
Even if different from the other two, I was thinking maybe a Bessa R2 too..

What do you think? any suggestion?

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if I can use a Zone VI 4x4 lensboard for my Deardorff 4x5 Special.

Thanks,

Thanks a lot everyone for the suggestions.

Doing researches

I was thinking about the Gitzo GT3531 or the Induro C7414.

Maybe I ll go for the Gitzo cause it s smaller to carry around.
Would it be enough right?
For the head i m thinking about a manfrotto 229.

Thanks,

Hi everyone.

I'm struggling with buying a tripod.

I would like to find a tripod for my Deardorff 5x7 which allows you to tilt the center column.
Any tip?

If I cannot find it, which tripod would you recommend for my camera?

Because I've being reading a lot but I really don't know where to go.

I would use it for studio work and outside too.
I was thinking about a Gitzo. But which one?
Please give me a name..
I have a Manfrotto 808RC4 head. Should it work?

My budget is around 600 usd.

Thanks a lot,

ah ok..
thanks!

good idea.

What about putting rubylith on the glass and not under?
The same concept of the spray but with rubylith. Could it work?

I live in New York.
This afternoon I'll be able to tell you which durst model is the enlarger.

Thanks

-

Not bad this idea..Do you think I can find just anti newton ring glass to do the "sandwich"?
Do you think is going to be expensive as buying an holder?

Thanks

-

mm ok.

I'll try just masking with the rubylith.
Thanks,

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah the easiest way would be printing on a 5x7 or 8x10 enlarger....but at my school I can only print up to 4x5..
So..maybe I can ask the school if they can file a 4x5 glass carrier, but I don't think they will do that.
So I guess that I would have to buy one and my question would be: which one?
I guess I have to tell you with which enlarger I'm working..I know that's a Durst, but I don't remember the model. I can tell you soon.
Thanks,
