I agree with Brooks. There is a nice image in there it just needs a bit of tweaking (and there people far better at PS than me but this is where I'd go with it). Good luck.

  1. This has to be one of the funniest photog shots I've ever seen. I can't for the life of me imagine carring any one of those beastly things around. I think I'd take up painting.

Actually the blur, the over the top colors, and the perspective convey perfectly the late night haze of a party. I especially like the print pattern on the ceiling.

A large amount of obvious PS work that actually adds to the image rather than detrating from it, I wouldn't have thought it possible.

    Very well done.

Funny but I thought it was constructive criticism? Let me clarify: Pedro shoots a lot of nudes, he shoots many, if not most all of them very well. I made the assumption that this was a posed, studio shot, since in my life I dont often happen across nude women sitting on drape-covered stools.

I could be wrong about that assumption.

Anyway assuming that Pedro did have almost all the elements in the image under his control, why he chose to ignore the artificial attachment of the picture to the models face surprised me, considering his portfolio clearly demonstrates he knows his way around a camera.

    Perhaps Pedro will explain further.

For the life of me I can't imagine why you wouldn't have moved the picture from behind her head? Her hair bleeds into the frame and there is light-colored edge that runs straight into her nose. This seems so much like an elemental mistake that I find it odd coming from a person who shoots as many nudes as you do.

    Ready!

Perhaps you'd like to hear a dissenting comment? I see the same yellow/greenish cast that was mentioned by Stock Aero and I find the skin to be excessively altered. It seems artificial at best. I can only imagine a better image lurking somewhere under all that manipulation.

"so it was either dead-black shadows or a big white hole in the center of the frame."

    Good choice.

I always enjoy your work, you've got a great eye for the down low stuff...

  2. I would have to agree with your personal assessment, this is a strong image.

And even though I would normally agree with John about wanting to see more

of an expression, I think the fence and the grass provide a graphic quality

that is lost with the cropped version. I particularly like her placement,

far enough off center to be interesting yet not too far off to the side as

seem contrived. She also happens to be standing near the sun/shadow line on

the grass. This is well thought out, even if it was done quickly.

One final comment, I understand the desire and value of comments, but asking

for them only on low ratings almost sounds as though you are suggesting that there is no value in

hearing the reasoning for a high rating. As if to say "I know my image is

good so you better be able to explain why you don't think so." I realize

that this was probably not your intention but I just thought you might want

to know it struck me as odd...

    Regards,

Well lucky for me, since I don't like coconuts.

But all kidding aside I must say I'm a bit confused as to some of the high ratings and a few of the comments. It just surprises me that (as you mention above) so few people on a photography site would not understand what they are looking at.
