I've seen a Nikon LS4000 make a good scan of faded slides. Just for your information if you ever get a chance to use one.
Nice photo by the way, I am sure the original was heaps better.

Captured this well. I have found that most of my kitesurfing shots I was missing the face, but to get an action shot and the expression on the surfers face makes for a better shot. -

You are correct, took this shot from the top of the sand bank in Palm Beach. The surf was breaking close to the shore and the 500mm got me nice and close.
