It is nice to see a picture of the volcano within the volcano instead of the usual entire expanse of Crater Lake.   Just my humble opinion but I think most people are in such awe of the entire scene that they miss the mini drama that unfolds before them in Wizard Island and The Ghost Ship.

Reminds me of a Playboy image from the late 60's early 70's.

Earring with the camera vertical or the subject laying down.  My guess is the camera is vertical and you rotated the image.

Even being taken from a distance I think it tells a great story and is nicely composed.  Makes me wonder what the expressions on their faces are but I'm leaving that to my imagination.

Hi Donna,

I'm looking at this image from the eye of a surfer that has been in the Maytag like he is more times then I care to count.  Judging from his positioning I'm guessing he was on his back about 2 seconds after you got this shot. 

I think the picture is outstanding as it stands.  It shows that every day on the water with a board under your feet is not pristine curls with perfect tubes but sometimes the Mix Master wins with the water you want just a few feet in front of you on the other side of the falls.
