This looks like one of those beautiful dreams that is on the verge of turning into a nightmare. I absolutely love this image! The tones make it an atmosphere heavy with anticipation. Fantastic p/p. Congrats, all the best, Beth

  1. Grayham,

My husband and I were on a sightseeing day trip off the beaten trail....through some of the small towns north of Dallas.

I had to do a little backtracking and research but I (re)discovered the lodge is in a quaint little town called Myra. The lodge number is 878.

There are some interesting articles about the history of Myra and the lodge on line.

Also, I took quite a few shots of this beautiful old building, and plan to post a few more of them after a bit of editing. Check my folder "Doors, windows, etc." in a few day. Thanks for taking time to drop by and comment.

Ps. The year on the Masonic symbol is actually 1903 instead of 1908.

  2. Laurent, in my opinion this photo rates among the very best posted on PN to date.

You've captured a thousand stories in his face. The wisdom that comes with living a long and hard life is clearly visible, and yet there is a tenderness, too. The color tones and exposure are spot on....I absolutely love this shot, and I'm adding it to my favorites. All the best, Beth

    Help Me

Help me?? Of course, I have no idea of the underlying story of this person, but....judging from clues embedded in this photo....I can't seem to muster any sympathy. Looks like self imposed circumstances, and maybe somebody needs some tough love. Like...get your ass up, get straight, and make a life.

(Lord, forgive me if I'm wrong.)

A fantastic composition! Very well thought out.

With the "nothingness" in the background, it reminds me of Stephen King's "The Langoliers". Love it!

    All the best, Beth

  3. Beautiful work of art! Post processing is superb! I remember doing pen and ink drawings such as this in art class, (many, many years ago) and loved every minute of it.

Congrats on a great image! All the best, Beth
