I love the concept. Although there is something a bit unsettling about the right wing (arm?). I think I would have selected wings from a different perspective. Just my opinion. All in all, a great idea. Regards, Beth

Horizontal lines, vertical lines, straight lines, curves, light and dark...this photo truly has it all. A perfect example of "less is more." I like it very much. Congrats on a great capture. Regards, Beth

Ditto what James said. Great post processing! The jet contrails in the distance jarred me back from that warm feeling of nostalgia...nice catch. I'm adding this to my favorites. All the best, Beth

Karl, I'm humbled to get this positive critique from such an accomplished photographer. I took a tour through your portfolio and I stand in awe. Your kind words are truly appreciated. Best regards, Beth

Mike, thanks for your critique. Actually I did soften it purposely using DreamySuite because I like the effect.

And I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know it was acceptable to upload larger sizes. I've often wondered how some photos can be clicked on and enlarged....shows my amateur status. Thanks again.

Thanks Pierre. My intentions are to do a series of extreme crops. I like the dramatic effect is produces. Works on some photos, others not.

Thanks Ruud for taking time to come by and comment. Always appreciated.

Drew, we just celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary on June 20th, and we have more fun now than ever. ;)

Olaf, actually it is sort of a set-up. This is my husband being his usual unrestrained self. He says, "Hey, look at me..." So I did.

    Thanks for your comments.

  1. I think you succeeded in capturing the mood of the cemetery perfectly. This is an outstanding image. It is a shame the garbage bin is there, but cropping it would take away too much of the overall ambiance. Just my personal opinion...this is close to the perfect shot. Regards, Beth
