    Martine in the Opera

I too would clone out the strands of hair away from her head. Otherwise a really nice photo: good light control (though the left side a little blown out), contrast and composition---not to mention a really beautiful woman.

Well-done. Certainly tells the story. I like the composition and use of selective color, works well here. HR

    Lost in Thought

Hi Laura, I am always pulled into your photos. This one in particular I feel has some of the richest colors and lighting I have noted in your work. As always the expression and mood is powerful. For me the setting, lighting and color is really nice in this shot. Congratulations, HR

    Staircase in an Office Building

This I find appealing. Nice collection of shapes, lighting, colors, angles and intersections. Well-imagined and well-executed. HR

  11. I like this very much. I also live in the southeast and see lots of structures like this. I think they tell lots of stories and for a long time I have wanted to photograph them as a series but laziness has gotten in the way. Your picture inspires me to get on with it! HR

    Baltic Sea

Again a really nice long exposure sea shot. The lights on the horizon really add to it in my opinion. Had the chance to cruise the Baltic and visit your beautiful town of Tallinn last August. Seeing lights at a great distance on the Baltic was not uncommon and very pretty! HR

    questionable empathy

What you can't see is the paper bag with a bottle in it next to him on the bench. A sad picture actually. But he was enjoying his pipe quietly. HR

  19. Thanks Maurizio. I appreciate your thoughts! HR
  20. Tommy thanks for the kind compliment. I barely caught the fog before it lifted. Scott you make some good points. The water, shown not so well here, was so glassy it was reflective and drew my attention thus the horizon. The original picture was even more panoramic and I made a judgement to crop it to highlight what I felt where the best portions of the shot. Thanks for the thoughtful critiques. HR

    Holding time in vain

As always this is striking, Laura. Very dark in lighting and message. This is definitely a look back "in vain". Difficult to look at but really well-done on a tough assignment. Your commitment to your photos is remarkable. HR ps cute dress

I like this. Well-seen and captured. The profile is great and the blemish in the plaster adds interest---is that what he is looking at? HR
