1.
Without testing it first I packed my 90mm lens and went on a small trip. I haven't used it in many years, so forgot that you have to set it to manual (I think) to see how the image will compose. But the bigger issue is that distance objects are not in focus, even when set to infinity. Is this normal for the 90mm? Again, it's many years since I used it. Or, 1) is it in need of repair or 2) am I missing something? Thanks.

 2.
Scott, I greatly appreciate your answer. I think my question is more: why have 72 pixels per inch and with my 8MP sensor I get 45x27 inches? Why not 360 pixels per inch and smaller dimensions? I understand (only dimly) that the 45x27inch numbers are purely a mathematical artifact (right?), but it still confuses me. Not sure why, but it does. I mean, why do the high capacity sensors on cameras like mine at 8MP, shoot at 72ppi? As opposed to 360ppi? Or does it not make a difference? If it shot at 360ppi and the image were like 7x9, you wouldn't have to worry about resizing. Or, am I missing something?

 3.
OK, I get that, sort of. BUT, in PS, my camera's image is 3264x1952 pixels. And it says the resolution is 72 pixels/inch. So, my question is: what is the best way to get the pixels/inch number up to, say 360? If I just change it to 360, the width and height pixel values go up accordingly. I can use an app like PhotoZoom, but it would be nice if the image were at 360 natively.

 4.
I've been using an Epson 3800 for a couple of years. It's not bad at all, but now the print head is damaged and it is in the repair shop. The bill could be up to $450 or so, depending on the actual problem. So, I was thinking, years have passed, what's good on the market.
How does Pixma (Canon) stand up to the Epson 3880? Or HP's? Or...?
I do large format and digital photography; my prints are generally up to 16x20, mostly B&W but also color on occasion.

 5.
This was moved to the wrong forum; Apologies for the duplication.
My Epson3800 print head is clogged. I've tried several power cleanings and head cleanings but they haven't made the slightest difference. The nozzle test looks exactly the same and the prints are very bad. Bands all across the image area. Epson said the problem is the nozzles and their only recommendation is to take it to one of the two service centers near New York City. I think that's going to be about $550. I could get a refurbed printer for about $800. So, not sure what to do.
Is there any other nozzle cleaning action I can do myself? Or any check I can make?

Thanks.
6.
I am trying to print out a photograph I scanned in. The image on the PS (CS4) screen looks fine. When I print out a picture I downloaded, a large picture of Mt. Everest, it also prints out OK. I'm using Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, with the profile Pro38 PGPP. So, this image is fine. When I print out the scanned in image (a friend of mine and his mother), their skin tones are OK, but their clothes are bizarre. Both are wearing black shirts. On screen they are OK. CS4 Info confirms the color is almost completely black. BUT when I print it out on the Epson 3800, the blacks are light grey. Just the blacks. Their skin tones are great. The assigned profile is sRGB. What am I doing wrong?
