1.
I would have shown the photo to the person and deleted the photo with the person watching.

We did not have that option when we were using film.

After all it is not worth the time and grief to prove a point.

It is easy to setup a shot with a more willing subject.

 2.
I guess my response would be both "yes" and "no."
As a news photographer, I was there to record the event.
As just one who was there, I would say no.
With the exception of my first wife's funeral.
Before the actual funeral and before any one else had arrived, I recorded most every thing.
I shot the the flowers, the arrangement, Joyce with the flowers from the back of the room and closeups, the front of the funeral home and then the casket as it was on the stand over the grave.
I used my pocket camera so it would not be noticed.
Why you might ask.
I did it for me.

 3.
I find that itis interesting that way back in "ancient" times, this was the problem with photography in the court room.

This was solved when the judges sait that it would be allowed if the camera made no more noise than what a Leica made.

If you can shut down the "noise" function that is built into the cameras that make it sound "good," then you could have a valid talking point.

 4.
I use a solvent for cleaning black powder guns.
I can't remember the name as I am not at home.
You can buy it at a gun store.
If it cleans up and there is still metal left then flush it with water then use a dryer like alcohol to get rid of the water.
Good luck.
