1. Very well done. You are a master of the light and of the horse photography. Thank you.
2. I like your pictures, especially those about Patagonia. you take them at the right moment. Also like when you put a person in the photo, just at the right place. hope to see more of your work. I also live in Patagonia, but on the other side of the wall, in Chile. See my pictures if you want. Just put my name in Photo.net.

4.
The 3 towers complete with the sun at sunrise is impossible in summer. The Almirante Nieto mountain gives them shade for the position of the sun in the morning. Best position of the sun as from April through the winter. I live in the vicinithy of Torres del Paine, so members, any doubt ask me or enter my name to look at my pictures in photonet. Daniel Bruhin.

Andean Condor

The condors (Vultur gryphus) are very common in Torres del Paine National Park, and also in all Patagonia. I was lucky because I was with a friend (he uses Canon and was still waiting for an adapter to use it) who lent mi his Sigma 120-400 lens for Nikon, so I just put it on my Nikon D7000, autofocus and shoot. Not bad for the first time I used a long lens with my Nikon,, without knowing it. This was winter time. When it is very cold, the condors cannot go back to their refuges in the mountains, because they are frozen or with ice icles. In that case, they stayed down in the valley, and early in the mornings, when there is sun, they rest and open their wings to take sun, while on the ground. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.).
8. Since about the year 2010, a new colony of King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) has formed on the coastal grounds of the Estancia San Clemente, in Bahía Inútil, Tierra del Fuego. You can visit the place (not cheap though, some US$ 30.00 the entrance + the cost of the trip. Organized trips from Punta Arenas are available but it will be a hard day with many kilometres). You can see from some 30 to 200 birds, nesting and resting beside the river Marrazi. You will be on one shore, and they are on the other side. Some 10 metres distant. Take a long lens. This photo with penguins shown on the beach taken with special permit. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.)

Lake Grey, in Torres del Paine National Park has plenty of icebergs which float from the glacier to the beach for some 19 km. Take them placid, with wind, with snow, with sunset on the nearby mountains of Torres del Paine, etc, you are assured of a very nice picture. But be careful when very windy as here, plenty of sand and small stones hurt really on the skin and head. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.)
10. This old wharf called Braun & Blanchard or Gafo, is situated at the entrance of Puerto Natales. At sunset, many photographers gather to take pictures with this beautiful subject together with the mountains and the coloured clouds. In the past, it was used to load the steam ships with frozen mutton meat or/and wool. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.)
11. The caiquén or the upland goose (Chloephaga picta) is to be found everywhere in Patagonia. Here taken flying over Tierra del Fuego. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.).

Patagonia offers some impressive sunsets, and also some impressive clouds, such as for example the lenticular clouds which form when there is a lot of wind, or tempests. This cloud had a spectacular form, rarely seen. Photo taken on Río Serrano, Torres del Paine National Park. (The photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.).
13. Working sheep-dogs are very common in Patagonia. They have a hard job, often after a hard day´s work, they have blood on their feet. If they are well treated, they have a good life. They work also with cattle. Here on the pick-up, looking at their owner who is walking away to open a door. They look worried! Near Estancia Cerro Negro, on Ruta 9 between Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.).
14. These tufas are around the coast of that lake, in Torres del Paine National Park. Such a phenomenon is to be seen only on a few lakes in the world. This lake has no outlet, it looses its waters only by condensation or with the wind. These kind of lakes are said to have salty waters, but this one has potable water, you can take it without problem, it has a very good taste. Even trouts live in it. Local people and visitors do not really know about these tufas but I hope with this picture that you come to visit and admire them, some of them still to be found in the water, half sumerged. Gaucho at Estancia Los Baguales with his horse. Sierra Baguales is a strange and mysterious group of mountains, still unknown to the common people. It is not far away from Torres del Paine, on the border with Argentina. I spent so far some 2-3 months, exploring and photographing around this mountain range and there are some spectacular sceneries. Beware, it is private, you have to ask for permission.
16. Laguna Amarga, Torres del Paine, was frozen. Various days of temperatures around -10°C have frozen this beautiful salty lake. Here at sunrise. If you are around, there are plenty of interesting foregrounds, just look after them and avoid the tipical ones. (The Photographer, Daniel Bruhin W.)
