I went up from the Torres Camp to the Base de las Torres at 03:00 h with a good torch. Took me some 75 minutes for the heavy backpack and my age. Fortunatelly I know well the path. Once above, a half moon had just come out and iluminated well the Towers. Some lightpainting with torch for the foreground helped a bit more. No Milkyway, which was up about 22:00 h. last night. In the foreground is the outlet of the lake, without ice. The lake, a few more meters away was frozen. The time of the shot was at 04:23 h wintertime (although we have now summer time all year round).

A new lookout of the Torres del Paine with model on a nice stone. Thanks for
Ratings and Critiques.

First time in Torres del Paine with the Fujifilm Mirrorless System, which is much lighter for the mountains trekkings. Good to go with a colleague or friend for modelling. Model: Marcial Urbina T. Here at the "Base Las Torres" Lookout. Thanks for Ratings and Critiques.

It was some months I did not return to the Torres del Paine Lookout "Base Las
Torres". This time with lightpainting the foreground and a frozen proglacial
lake. Thanks for ratings and critiques.

I used the lightpainting method for the foreground with a torch with a red light (which was transformed into light yellow while editing, without changing the colours of the rest of the photo). The time of exposition was 20 seconds to get movement in the clouds, with aperture of f/11. ISO 400. Lens used was a Samyang 14 mm f/2.8. The lake was frozen, but it was the last day. That night there was heavy wind and the next day it was too dangerous to walk again on the ice, the ice cap was too shallow.

I love that picture, some drama on it. What place is that? Location please. Time some 10 seconds? Position of the church perfect.

Very beautiful picture. Just looks like a moai of Easter Island. Not so well done (the look like moai stone), but I can see a face looking on the right. Nice sky. Congratulations.

Yes, really a very striking photograph of the storm. I imagine the thunders in my ears with all these lightnings. Congratulations.

Tim: The foreground are rocks (on the right). Below, are trees without leaves, it is winter (Nothofagus trees), and the yellow is the traditional Pampa grass. Thanks for your interest.

This sunrise of the Paine Massif was taken from an unusual lookout not well
known at all from the visitors to that place. The old Weber wooden bridge
shown on the photo over the River Paine was, unfortunately, destroyed by the
authorities in 2012, when it was replaced by the new concrete bridge Weber II.
Thanks for Ratings and Critiques.

This is the old coal pier used at the beginning of the 20th Century to bring coal
to the steam Ships of that time. Punta Arenas had a nearby coal mine and a
train used to bring it from the mine up to the pier included. Sunrise time,
Magellan Straight. Thanks for Ratings and Critiques.

Just stunning photograph. Definitly Yan is one of the best if not the best Photographer uploading photos for critiques in this moment under Landscapes. Big congratulations from Patagonia.

Another perspective from that photogenic old wharf on this memorable
morning with this espectacular sunrise unseen for many weeks this winter in
Puerto Natales. Thanks for Ratings and Critiques.

Photo taken at dawn, about half an hour before the sunrise. Very cold. Fresh
snow over the Paine Massif and no wind at all. In the foreground, the
Sarmiento Lake. Critiques and Ratings welcome.

In the foreground are the silhouettes of Nothofagus Trees or "Lengas", but
these were burnt in the big fire of December 2011. That was a very big
disaster. Almost 18.000 ha (43.505 Acres) were burnt down in 58 days.
Behind, the Cuernos del Paine at sunset. Critiques and Ratings welcome.

Sorry, forgot this information: Graduated ND Filter used is 0.6. The photographer.

Usually, at this place, the best photos are at sunset time. But sometimes,
when the sky looks exceptional before sunrise, it is worth getting up early in
case there could be a nice surprise. And it was the case today. Critiques and
Ratings welcome.
-
The filter is 0.9, not 3.0. Sorry. Thanks for your time and glad you liked the picture.

Little winter tempest on the coast of Puerto Natales, on the old pier of Braun &
Blanchard. Ratings and Critiques welcome.

First photo with my new Fujinon lens 10-24 mm f/4.0 which has just arrived.
This is the old pier Braun & Blanchard, at sunset time. Graduated ND Filter
used (3.0). Critiques and Ratings welcome.

While on the way to the Grey Lake, the last light was approaching over the
Cuernos del Paine, seen from a different perspective. Thanks for Ratings and
Critiques.

Looks like a voyage back to the past, in the XVII century. Well done.

in Landscape

It was worth the effort to get up for the second time in this trip to the Lookout
of the Base of the Towers. Nice sky with lots of stars and a lot of cold.
Nightshots and waiting for the sunrise. Lake was frozen. Foreground
iluminated with red torch for a few seconds. In edition, red light edited in
yellow-orange. Thanks for Comments, Critiques and Ratings.
