1.
AFAIK it doesn't exist yet. Anyone close to building one? Is there any physical, technological problem to it, or is it a (lack of) demand issue?

2. Here a way I used...use a micro SD card with adaptor in cam and then put the micro SD directly into the phone...
3. I haven't used / found a wifi capable camera that isn't complicated...my bad, Barry.
4. I used to travel with 17-35mm 2.8 and that lens stayed on the d700 85% of the time.
5. Samsung s7, LG g5, iPhone 6/7 if doesn't do lowlight action photos...
6. Maybe because I'm more of a street shooter, I always tend to like the unguarded moments more. Knowing how to pose is great and all, but the best ones are often unguarded or not posed imo...But it's often hard to tell at times.
7. I tend to use a bean bag, a folded towel...anything but carrying tripod no matter how small. I don't do 'escapes so 1/4 or 1/5 of a sec is easy enough with image stabilisation.
8. Michael, you are much too easy on them younger folks...or do you have quite a few fb shares:) Either way, I think the said photo and the Vietnam war was and is significant enough for people (even young folks) to know and understand, in many ways, more so than W's Iraq and Afghan war. Too many apps, selfies, distractions...So much for dialectic:\
9. Y'all scared the op away maybe. For street stuff, the quality of premium lenses don't matter much. Most 28-50mm equivalant are good enough. And I can't remember the last time I used my lens cap. I put a filter on the lens and go...
10. The error/ censorship is in the algorithm imo, I don't think some millennial chumps decided to censor one of the iconic photo of the last century. Or, perhaps they are that clueless?
11. Algorithm by nature, is full of human errors...we often don't see our mishaps until too late. Furthermore, we often just leave it be, sadly. As complex as Algorithm could be, it doesn't take a (intelligent, informed) human more than a few seconds to understand and differentiate the significance of the said photograph...
12. I'm not sure if all the photos are incomplete, as Julie says. I think some are post processed and completed to be shown (especially by photogs). However, I do agree in the sense that conversations (words) are left uncompleted or unfinished most of the time imo...people just things go undone, I suppose. They just scroll to the bottom, to be unseen. Not an aspect I particularly like. Things get trendy and a day or two later, it can't be found, lost in the ether...That bugs me.
13. It seems I'd place myself between Michael and yourself in that I am a little more judgemental of fb photos than Michael and a little less than yourself. I only go on for some specific reason and rarely browse for amusement...much like mainstream "News" actually. And in many ways, fb has become my pnet off-topic forum;) I like to have intelligent debates with anonymous diverse people, different or like minded on various topics...political or otherwise. As for photos, I use them to learn how to identify and do stuff mostly.
14. Coming from a street shooter/backpacker pov. The oly/panny has one major advantage: small size, especially the lens es. The Sony and Fuji are most likely better in most area regarding the bigger sensor. However, when you add it all up. The smaller M43 system is to Sony/Fuj, as the Sony/fujii to dslrs iin size mo.. The epl5/7 is barely bigger than my rx100/lx7, with small primes. The em5/10 has live pictures (good for time lapse landscapes). But they are bigger due to the EVF, of course.
15. You can check wing shing and man shing addresses by their websites. But don't expect them to reply, as they are both 99% not depended on web sale, much like the rest of HK stores. They are just several blocks apart in mongkok. They have the same owners afaik. On the map, look for the cross street of argle st. And Nathan rd. Or, just take mongkok MRT station. If you feel like walking...it's maybe 3 to 4 km to TST, where many tourists stay. HK mongkok is relatively small...*lady* street is where they (locals) go to buy cheap souvenirs / stuffs. Good luck!
16. Joseph, I don't put much stock in US state dept travel warnings. Though I'm sure there are some truth in them, but some are laughable. For example, communist Laos is the friendliest nation in all my travels. They and the Burmese are the nicest people, as a nation imo. The US has a warning for laos too.
17. No need to apologize, Mohamed. Shopping in mongkok on a Saturday evening/night is an experience in it self. You'll be all too tired after, say, 6 Or 7 shops. The sales CSR will say almost the same lines, over and over again...and the amount of shoppers is insane!
18. Karim's point is well argued imo, but that doesn't mean it applies to everyone...tho, seeing most on camera forums and threads, I tend to agree. But too some, it may not be the case at all..
19. I looked at that Fuji site...and it says it closes on Saturday and Sundays (the two busiest shopping days in HK), and the last news is dated like almost one year ago. Try it and report back? I like wing shing photo supplies, much like NYC BH photos. However, there might be some promo discounts of 5-7% at at some electronic chains, like Broadway and the likes. I have never heard of that fujifilm store until I looked at the link. There are other electronic /camera shopping clusters in both kowloon, new territory, and HK island...tho I tend to focus around mongkok and Jordan for simplicity. If I'm on the island ,then causeway bay and Stanley area for film cameras browsing...
20. And the prices are similar enough where I'd not seek the best deal by searching for hours and days. In my experiences, new camera prices differ maybe by 6-7% at most. And in Mongkok itself, they are like 15-25 electronic shops!
21. If you are buying it new, then this question is laughable. There are many camera shops and I d say they are 99% genuine. There are no "fujifilm"stores, but electronic shops that sell almost everything. And there are specialized camera stores. Best!
22. The pain is between is just west of Mojave and perhaps, Edison, east of Bakersfield. The problem is: The road switches back and forth, between a divided 4 lanes highway (2 in each direction) and non divided 2 lane road (one lane each direction) with no median, dangerous! And the road switches endlessly, it seems, especially west of Tehachapi. On top of that, the road wasn't lit well. So, cars and 18 wheelers kept their brights on all the time, like they don't know head lighting etiquettes. Lastly, many passes and overtake speeding during the non divided sections like indy racers. 58HW is very empty and boring, from what I saw. This was April '16. The actually road pavement wasn't bad. Actually, it was pretty boring from Mojave to Barstow as well, but less dangerous, if my recollection is correct. I was going between sequoia and death valley park over a long weekend. You seems to have plenty of time tough. JT, Sequioa, Mojave and DV are all worth it IMO. I didn't goto black canyon, which is next door to Sequioa. Vegas is okay, tho numerous accommodations, worth 1 or 2 days IMO. I personally like Joshua Tree and the Yucca valley area most. DV and Sequioa NP are ddefinitely worth it, if you are in the area. And this is just southern Cal...
23. I'm waiting for a compact camera with a 21-35mm equivalent. They can do a 28-90 and a 24-75 rx100, so why not a 21- 35mm Rx100? Or, a 21-35mm LX100? Oly, Panny, Sony or even Samsung...come on! Be the pioneer! There's the unique market differentiation... Yes, well argued, Karim.
