Couldn't you find a couple more sections to post this in?

Generally cross-posting is frowned upon.

EVERY digital camera has hot pixels. Give it a break and take some real pictures. Not many people take pictures of black lens caps.

If the hot pixels bother you, map them out, or fix them in a photo editing program.

2 out of 14 million, is a pretty low ratio.

Waverly Sanitarium, Louisville KY. One of the most haunted places in the US, as seen on Discovery channel. It will scare the you-know-what out of you, especially the death tunnel, where they took all the dead bodies from the hospital to the morgue.

It's pretty easy to figure out. Go to Dell's website and see what your options for video cards are is you configure a system. Then google each card and see what the specs are. Takes about 2 minutes to get your answer.
For example...the "ati hd 2600 xt" which is a $50 upgrade has a DVI interface but also comes with:
What's in the Box
* ATI Radeon™ HD 2600 XT graphics card
* CrossFire™ Bridge Interconnect
* DVI to HDMI adapter
* DVI to VGA adapters
* HDTV Component out adapter
* Video-out adapter
* Set-up CD
* Manuals
So....Dell should throw the DVI to VGA adapter into your box, if not, you can buy from from any local computer store (e.g. Best Buy).

"Can anybody help? "
Photoshop support maybe? You do still have the original install disk,right?

You might try replacing the ink cartridges, they can go bad, especially from very infrequent use.
I don't know if you know or not, but if you are not using your printer you should turn it off, that will help protect the print heads.

I've never had any problems and I take thousands of photos a year in industrial plants. You're going to have to set the exposure manually for welding, grinding, etc, and bracket like crazy. Also, these can often be dusty, dirty environments. Stay away from filters as much as possible especially with welding, cutting, grinding or you might catch reflections from the filter in your photos.
Be sure and wear any safety equipment the plant requires, and stay out of the way as much as possible (especially of fork-lifts).

Looking thru a folder of about 100 files, the smallest was 12.2mb, the largest was 19.9mb

Whatever it is sure isn't very flattering. There's also been some post processing, not done to major benefit.
I certainly wouldn't put a photo like that "out there."

Here's the tricky part. You need a LTM to Pentax screw mount (42mm) adapter. And then the Pentax screw mount to K mount adapter.
It's really not worth it.
-
The registration distance is different. You can get them mounted, but they will not focus anywhere close to infinity. They can be used as macro lenses and that's about it.
-
Of everything you mention, only the shutter speed is controlled by the body. You'd be better off asking which LENS do I need. The body is pretty much irrelevant.
-
Hopefully the photos are smaller than the one you posted here...

Way to go...start 2 threads when one would have sufficed.

I sure hope Rose isn't from the US and giving the US another black eye in the international community.
Rose....please say you're not from the US.

Did you try looking at adobe.com for help?
From their web site:
Open a Photo CD file
You can open Kodak Photo CD (PCD) files, including high-resolution files from Pro Photo CD discs. You cannot save files in PCD format from Photoshop.
Note: You can find the PhotoCD plug-in on the Photoshop CS3 DVD (Goodies/Optional Plug-Ins/Kodak PhotoCD. The ReadMe included in the DVD mentions where to copy the PhotoCD plug-ins and the color profiles.
1. Choose File > Open.
2. Select the PCD file you want to open, and click Open. If the file does not appear, select the option for showing all files from the Files Of Type (Windows) or Show (Mac OS) menu.
3. Select options for the source image:
Pixel Size
Specifies the pixel dimensions of the image. Keep in mind that the on-screen size of the opened image depends on both the pixel size and resolution you choose.
Profile
Specifies a device profile for color management.
4. Select options for the destination image:
Resolution
Specifies the resolution of the opened image.
Color Space
Specifies a color profile for the opened image.
Landscape or Portrait
Specifies the orientation of the opened image.

Sounds like a hot/stuck pixel. How far do you have to zoom in to see it? Do you shoot in jpg or raw?
-
I like Corri's also, but I would get rid of all the background. As it is, it's too harsh between the white and the dark background. Crop and delete all the background, or even find another shot you could use as a background - something wild and pyschodelic would fit the mood.
You don't need photoshop to do this, Elements will do it as will some even cheaper alternatives. How did you do the processing on the other photos in your gallery?
-
If the seller can't answer basic questions about the use, then I would forget it. Sounds like he's trying to pass you off until the time to return the item expires.
Send it back NOW...

Depends on your definition of well paid. To a burger flipper, $20,000 might be well paid, but to a computer programmer, $100,000 might be peanuts.
What do you consider well paid?
Used lens sale...question
in Pentax
Posted

I sold a lens on ebay, clearly labeled as used and several years old. I get an email from the buyer saying thanks, it's in good condition. Then 2 days later I get an email saying he inspected the lens in full sun, and can barely discern two faint "scratches". He goes on to say they are only visible in full sun with the lens held a certain way.
He wants to return the lens for a full refund.
What say the experts????
Thanks....
