  1. I went ahead and got the Photography Plan 20 gb for $9.99 a month. Can't figure out how to get my Topaz plugins to work. Accessing Topaz Labs in Lightroom This says Lightroom CC doesn't support external editors but Lightroom Classic CC does. What did I sign up for? Ugh so confusing. Tried to chat with Support today but that didn't work out as I lost connection when refreshing page. Grr...
  2. Thank you Karim.. I'm a loyal Lr user and feel most comfortable with it.
  3. Ok. So...Sounds like LR Classic is the answer. Should I uninstall my version 6 from my computer?
  4. I've been away from pnet for a long time due to my husbands illness and my attention being needed elsewhere. I've been told that I need to do something for myself so I'm getting back to my photography. I've noticed that Lightroom 6 on my laptop has been VERY SLOW and altogether miserable to deal with. I'm considering a new computer but it works great, the only problem being Lightroom. I think maybe uninstall LR and get Lightroom CC? I read that there's LR CC and LR Classic? Which would be better? I don't edit on my phone but there have been times it would have been nice to do so beyond just what the phone offers. (iphone6S) Also, I'm afraid I'll lose all of edits and presets if uninstall. Any advice for someone trying to catch up? Thanks!!
  5. Thank you Patrick, it makes me feel better knowing it may not be my fault after all. And thanks for the suggestion on the a580. I found one for $325 on Amazon.
  6. So this is embarrassing but I believe I have broken my Sony a55. I was taking pictures of the fire in the fireplace and must have gotten too close (didn't think so?) but it completely shut down. Maybe the battery needed to be charged...but nope it still wouldn't work. Sooo...now I'm in the market for a new camera. It's been a long time since I've shopped. What are some recommendations in the Sony line? I'd like to stick with Sony since I have several lenses that will fit. Thanks!
  7. David, Thank you! Recalibrated and it works! Odd though, I never had this problem before and I've had Win 10 for a long time. But...hey....stranger things have happened.
  8. Windows 10 which I've had for awhile. Wondering if I should uninstall everything and start over.
  9. My most recent version has been acting up. It will load and clicking on a photo will bring it up to view but then clicking on any adjustment or preset then causes the photo to disappear and there is only a white blank. I have no idea what could be causing it. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Thanks!
  10. Finally have had some time to sit down and work on the site. I decided I like the paragraph on the Homepage the way it is but fixed the apostrophe and added an About page to try to communicate something about myself. I'm not seeing trouble loading on my end, not sure how to fix that. Thank you all for taking the time to help me out.
  11. Fred, Thanks for the suggestions. I never know what to say in an artist statement and am put off by the flowery ones I've read. But I can see where it would be helpful. Will have to come up with something that can explain why I photograph what I do. Thanks!
  12. fiveone.smugmug.com Sorry if the link above doesn't work.
  13. Hello, I have changed some things around on my website and would like a critique (however painful lol) from fellow pnetters as to what looks good and what could change. Thank you! https://fiveone.smugmug.com/Street-Vol-1/
  14. I would be interested in joining a group like that. Although, I don't know that I have much technical knowledge that would be of much help, participation in discussions would be interesting.
  15. In all honesty I do not understand the fascination with his photos. I clicked the link above in OP's post and was curious about what I would find. They don't move me the way they do others. To me mostly seems like snapshots and a few I would have discarded if I had taken them. There are a few that I like but don't see what makes them special.
  16. Bill, Thanks for the heads up to search Pnet. I found this http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/00SGuL I was able to find a site for the manual (no easy task ) and am anxious to put in a roll of film. Unfortunately I work all weekend so it will have to wait. I'll post up a picture of it soon.
  17. Well.....as a long time member it is sad to see how few photos are on the site for critique. This site has lost quite a bit. I don't often get on here due to work/home issues and certainly not as much as years ago but I do still value what's offered. This site taught me so much in the beginning and will still come to find good advice and insight when I can. I know the folks are working to fix the problems I hope they will be able to come up with something that will encourage photographers to come back.
  18. My dear friend gave me an Iloca Automatic camera yesterday. I'm having difficulty finding out anything about it. Does anyone know about these? It seems to be in excellent condition. If someone could point me in the right direction to get some info I would greatly appreciate it.
  19. Welp.....I have been away for a few days working and just now got back to this thread. I really enjoyed the comments and was glad I could contribute something for once. Didn't really care for the remark by Leslie about my photo. I used it as an example in answering Tim's question about getting the "stink eye." I don't think it's a good shot for a lot of reasons but none of them are because the men were eating. Why put it down? I shoot often in Austin and have only felt threatened once and that fellow was mentally challenged....he followed me shouting about something, ironically it wasn't about me taking photos. Once took photos of a photographer taking photos.....fun day.
  20. I've had that happen a few times.....didn't see the nasty look I got until I got home and went through the photos. Here's a good example. I think I got lucky the guy on the right didn't get up and hassle me.<div></div>
  21. Perhaps it wasn't a friendly conversation. Maybe she was belligerent to the PJ and he backed into a position of his right to the photo. It might not have been a good situation from the beginning. I try to present as calm and benign. People ask me why I'm shooting them, what am I going to do with the photo and I assure them its just a hobby. Sometimes people wave me away, say no they don't want to be photographed. I respect that and move on. I don't think the general public understands that the photo belongs to the photographer though.
  22. Hello, I thought this would be interesting. I like to shoot Street and in the back of my mind I think this could happen. http://petapixel.com/2016/07/16/fisherman-catches-nikon-dslr-lost-photojournalist-attacked/
  23. Fred Sorry it took so long to get back.... Looking back at the series as a whole I can appreciate your point of view. I was looking more individually at the photos and couldn't see the where he was going.
