I would use separate light sources for each one. I would light her and the baby with soft light and him with harder light with cross light to make reflections on his skin (face).
-
Maybe you are right - I could do it more agressive but I did not want to. I left her just like she is as I liked her eyes. Sorry forgot to tell you what film I used - it was Kodak Pro Foto 100 in my RB67.

Looks nice and huge... You can make a big opening party!
-
Actually her left hand makes her slimmer and peaceful. You cannot do agressive image of someone that is peaceful. I think that todays model look is selfish and stupid very often... not with this girl please...

Allen,
My rule with the lighting is to try different setups for each model and choose the best one but on the edge of being risky. I tried more harsh lighting but it didn't work out so I did it all soft but with a bit of fill to preserve shadows. I used one soft box, one white umbrella, one plain flash, white and silver reflectors, I didn't light the backdrop.

I have just retouched a well lit portrait of a young girl using dust and scratches and must say that it works beautiful! It smooths the skin and leaves its surface in the same time. I used layers and removed this effect from eyes, lips, hair and clothes. It makes retouching a lot of faster.

Its function is to show the current trends.

Andrew - yes compact side. You can also find here Elle, Cosmo, Marie C. and lots of other mags.

Andrew! Hey - give it up, this is just a discussion, I think lot of folks would like to get some lighting and fashion - photo - general advices from you! In my opinion a model is a basic thing for a good fashion photo. It is great that photographer who is published in fashion mags can contribute in people forum. Hehe, I was published in Glamour Polish Ed. in January, just one pic...

Jaques, welcome to the club - I hope you will be sending
more stuff!
As for the photo you sent this time - I would be more careful with lighting her face "something is going on there". Maybe few reflectors would help to make the face lit better with the mood preserved.

Thanks all for your effort to comment my stuff.
The model was the first time in front of the camera. Today she has the second session with the other photographer (lot older and better then I) to built up her book, actually I even went to the session for a moment. See you with the next girl from my studio (I am booked for 26 years old model...).

Hehe, this girl is the thinest I have ever seen, the skirt is made of few coverings... None of my models seem to have problems with it...

Eric, I don't mind, hehe I have such a shot on a slide as well... and few more with other clothes. In the prevoius shot I like the waist...

Steven, Brooks - thanks for your samples!
-
Brooks,
Can you upload sample picture made using your technique, PLEASE?
Steve - can you upload something as well?

I like this multi exposure method! How do you meter/expose it?
You can use ND gels on the windows to make landscape visible.
-
You can gel everything :-) windows for tungsten, strobes for tungsten and leave tungsten bulbs as they are. Then use tungsten film or use blue filter on your lens for EPP. Get a color meter or trust your eyes.

Maybe try to build a light tent.
