1.
I suggest going to Rick Oleson's website. He has notes on how to disassemble the the shutter. If you don't feel like trying to do it yourself, you might be able to show the plans to the shop you took it to. That's if you have one of the Argoflex E models.
http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-54.html
I have a pre and post war Argoflex, one of which belongs to my father but he gave to me and I love them! They take wonderful photos. I'm actually a big fan of Argus cameras.

 2.
Hi
I was talking about the kit 17mm which I believe is the 2.8. I guess if that is the case, I'll get the zoom and buy a prime later.
Greg, the E-P3 seems to have served you well! That photo is great. I have also heard the rumors about the E-P5, but you are right. I don't know when that will be released. It was rumored that it was to be released this month and I don't think anyone has heard anything.
I guess.. I'll go PL5.
Thank you!

 3.
Hello! For my Birthday present, my husband wants to get me a 4/3's camera. I have been having a difficult time choosing one. It's been two weeks and I still can't decide between the E-P3 and the E-PL5. I know the E-PL5.. They both seem to have similar features except that the PL5 has the same sensor as the OM D and a flip screen. I would love the OM D but it is out of my price range.
I guess the REAL question is, is the PL5 so much better than the P3 that it's worth the extra money?
Other than that, my only other question is which is better 14-42mm II or the 17mm?
I can't wait to own a PEN. I have an old Olympus OM10 and a nice set of lens that is everything to me. I'm excited to own one of their digital cameras.
Thanks in advanced for your help!

 4.
I'd be using it with my Nikon D7000. I'm still kind of stuck in this decision. But I'm glad to see some good reviews from people who own Nissin flashes. I want a lighting set up for portraits. A B&H rep suggested that I get a speedlight set up to start with.
If I could afford any flash I would buy the Nikon SB900 but it's not an option since I need to buy other gear as well.

 5.
Hi
I was at the PDN PhotoPlus Expo yesterday in NYC. I am just starting out with lighting and I have been looking to buy my first lighting equipment without breaking the bank. I stumbled on the Nissin booth. They demo'd the Nissin Di866 Mark II and I was wow'd! I really like the ease of use.

I already own a Sigma Super DG610 and I was going to buy the Nikon SB700 until I saw the Nissin. So I am just wondering what your opinions are.

 6.
Hi
I am in need of some advice.
Two months ago I volunteered to take photos at my church for an event they were having. I have been contacted by the management of one of the performers that night, who explained that she is interested in two of my photos. She wanted to know what my pricing is. This is unexpected and it's my first time being approached for anything like this.
I know that I need to write up a license agreement. Could someone refer me to a good sample contract?
Also could someone suggest some pricing for my two photos?
I was told that they would be used on their website as promotion photos.
What kind of file do I send them? JPG? TIFF? not the RAW right?

Thanks in advanced!

Liana

 7.
Aw, what a bummer. I guess I should have shopped around a bit more. Unfortunately, I did buy it at regular price or somewhere around there. I purchased it because it was a pick of the year from Popular Photography and it seemed to have good reviews.. I guess I'll be having to invest in another. I will definitely reread my manual. Thank you for all your informative replies.

 8.
Hi everyone,
I bought this Sigma flash for my D7000 months ago and I still can't figure out how to use it wirelessly. Today I am going to take some photos and I would really love to use it off camera. I have read the manual, but still can't get it to work. It's my understanding that wireless flash works with the D7000. There must be something that I am doing wrong or not doing.. I will be honest and say, I have never experienced using a flash off camera so it's all new to me. I also do do much flash photography, I am more of a natural light girl.
Has anyone had this flash or used it? Can someone give me a quick step by step? Thank you in advanced :)
(PS, sorry if I am in the wrong forum but I thought this might be the right one.)

 9.
How's it working out for you? This is something I also plan on doing very soon.
I still use all my film cameras. I have a D7000 as well and most of the time my photos are not focused correctly if I do it manually. So I have made the decision to switch to a split screen.

 10.
Following the forum guidelines, I posted my question on this forum but no one ever got back to me and it has been weeks. So..

Hi
I am trying to figure out how to mix developer. I have some Ilford DDX (1 liter). I want to develop a roll of Shanghai ISO100. I saw on a chart online that I would need to mix 1 to 9. But I have no clue how much 1 is. How much is one? A cap full? An ounce?

 11.
Thanks everyone for clarifying that it's not in the camera that you get HDR. I guess that is what I get for reading random Nikon blogs.

Well I am glad that I am not the only one that feels this way. I an also an artist (drawing and painting), photography was always my hobby but I have been taking it serious for sometime now. I know when something just isn't right. I've come from using film cameras and post work is and was always light. To me, if a photo needed too much tweeking in post then it wasn't a very good photo in the first place. That is just my own standards that I hold myself to.

Now that I know that HDR is something that I can get to work for me, I wouldn't mind trying it out.

I am enjoying my D7000, it's an amazing camera. I'm glad I chose it. Thanks again for all your responses! I enjoyed reading them all! It's nice to know I'm not alone in my thinking.

 12.
I was kinda disappointed after already ordering my D7000 that it didn't have HDR. I didn't really know what HDR was, I just knew it was something that newer cameras had. But I stuck with my D7000 because I liked it for so many other reasons.

Since then I have seen many HDR photos on Tumblr and on Flickr. I don't really see what the big deal is. Yea, the colors are vivid but they also look over saturated and in a lot of cases.. digitally created. I mean it's not what was actually there when the person took the photo. Most photos, though they are beautiful (in most cases) they give me that "something's not right" feeling, someone got adjustments happy in Photoshop. It also seems to me like it's something that you can duplicate in Photoshop.

Maybe it's just me, but I like it when I take photos look as close to what I saw and made me want to take the photo in the first place. Is there more to it, or is this just a fad that seems to not be going away as it gains popularity?

 13.
Thank you so much for all the information. I am going to look up those books, maybe I'll find one at the library.
I do want it to be something simple since I am offering my services for free. I just want my friends to understand that I am keeping the rights to the photos and they can use them but I would want credit. That's about it.

 14.
Hi
I am planning on taking some portraits of two of my friends children. This is the first time I am actually planning out a portrait session with the intent to possibly use them as part of my portfolio.
I thought it would be a good idea to write up a simple contract to protect myself. So I was wondering if there are any websites that anyone can recommend to help me put one together. Thanks a ton in advanced.
Liana

 15.
Thanks a ton for the links and information. I guess my best bet is going to be getting the adapter which I saw B&H has for $209 (ouch). Or maybe I'll just wait until I get my darkroom gear in the spring. Just would have been nice to be able to shoot some instant film in the mean time.
Thanks Bob! lol, I don't know why but for someone reason on photo.net everyone calls me Linda, I've kinda gotten used to it but thank you for correcting everyone.
If I ever get some shots out my 4x5 beauty, I'll post some.
Should have posted a photo of it earlier but here she is.
16.
I bought a strange looking Speed Graphic camera a few months ago and only now am I getting a chance to play with it. I have a Polaroid back for it and had purchased a box of Fuji Film instant black and white FP-100B Professional. I thought it was going to be individual films but they are encased in some type of cartridge.
Am I completely out of luck here? Does this film not work for the back? I heard that they did, is there something special I need to do? I was really hoping to get to use this tomorrow :(

 17.
I own an Olympus OM10. If I could get a DSLR that can use the lens I already have for my OM which are quite a few that would be great.

I borrow my husbands Sony A300 but I am looking for a DSLR of my own.

I don't know about using a Micro thirds system such as the Olympus Pen. It seems to just be a step up from a point and shoot. I am looking for full control of settings, high quality images including RAW capabilities.

I'm not sure of what pro work I will be expecting. This is an area I am still exploring and haven't made a decision about it yet. I know I need a camera for whatever comes my way.

 18.
I am looking for a camera that would be a work horse and light weight. I am going to be using it for my college courses, personal projects and possibly at some point maybe even business purposes.
I'm looking for 12 mp and up. An aluminum body would also be nice. My budget is 1,700 with lens.

I was really wanted to get a Pentax K7 but my focus went over the the K5 which will be released next month. Other cameras I was considering were Olympus E-30, Nikon D7000... I also thought about getting a good body and save up for a great lens which I haven't really looked into yet.
What are your thoughts and suggestions? Thank you in advanced

 19.
Ugh, I hate the feeling of missing out on a deal. Hopefully he takes care of it.
I find good stuff on Etsy.com. I just recently purchased a listing that was titled ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. It was a listing for a Tamron zoom/macro lens, Zuiko zoom lens, Vivtar wide angle lens and Vivitar Teleconverter with some lens hoods and various body and lens caps. All of them worked for my Olympus OM10! I paid $25. On Ebay I got a spare OM10 body with the manual adapter for $15 flat.
I resort to online camera shopping because the Flea Markets here in New York are ridiculously expensive. They think they can rip-off the tourists and they figure everyone who goes there is rich since it's located in Midtown.
I don't even know where there are any Estate Sales here in the city either. I wish there were some.
