1.
Hi, ive had a look at these films mentions and i dont think its the right films as people still look quite flawless,
it would be as if you take a person with model skin and do a portrait and then once you see the film processed everything on the skin you didnt notice would be very visiable, im trying to go through all my notes to find the film listed but no luck yet

 2.
Hi, a while ago in a short course we shot with a black and while film, doing some experiments with more unsual
b/w films that are not that common to shoot with, one film we shot portraits with, that showed up every little detail on the face
even flaws that are barley visable normally, so every wrinkle was very hard, freckles came up very dark, spots, etc, ive tried to
look online and in the forums, i know its not just a normal detailed film but can not remember the name at all

does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

 3.
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could please give me some hints, info, about the linked images below.. I'm really curious as to
how you would achieve the warm tones that are coming through in the images, there seems to be a certain richness and also creamyness to the images, also a nice softness to the image, I know its film, and also I guess shot with 35mm from the format,
I was just wondering any clues on what type of camera, or film? would get like this.. I've tried some kodak films, fuji, i've also tried
pushing my films a few stops and some cross processing, but I cant seem to get the richness and I guess somewhat semi vintage
vibe to any of my images like this.. any help would be great as while trial and error is great, its also quite expensive latley to be
buying films, and processing, please no response about use photoshop, as I'm wanting to stick with film and trying out methods
rather than digital, would it maybe be the printing afterwards?? filters? any tips would be great

thanks a lot

links below.
p.s ( I know also time of day and thats its shot in sunlight helps, but ive tried shooting on 'warmish sunlight' and while
it helps I dont think is the key to getting this feel

 4.
Hi,

I have been looking at some of the works of ryan mcginley, and am very curious about certian photos i have seen,
ones in which the whole photograph has been shifted towards all one color, such as yellows or blues, reds, it does not appear to be light leaks and i have read before its a certian technique that he uses. I was wondering if anyone knows how this is done,
if it done in processing, or pre loading the film? I have attached some examples and would be very grateful to anyone with
some information

thanks a lot

 5.
I've read that some photographers heat up film on purpose, I think to speed up the time to expire the film, as this can produce different colors. I would like to try this with a roll of film, but was wondering if anyone knows how long the film needs heating for, and a safe method to heat the film, I dont want to melt it?

any tips?

thanks

 6.
hi,

does anyone know of any techniques to use when shooting film that can cause color casting of your film,
i especially am interested in creating a red cast to images, images such as this one linked
http://fjordphoto.org/aspace/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/blood_moon.jpg
which has be created on purpose.
i don't want to use any digital retouching to make this look, but try it on film, any ideas anyone?

thanks a lot

 7.
so cliff - sorry, as im dont know anything about plates or otho films, what era would be good for me to get a camera from, to use colour 120 film, that would have an uncoated / low contrast lens, for the effect im after, would it be best if i link some photos of the type of colors/look i'm going for?? and also I would much prefer to get the look right from either the type of camera/lens or from the film i use, rather than going the photoshop way, as this is the reason i want to go into film camera's and away from digital, as i'd rather get the result from using the right equipment-film..
sorry for my lack of camera knowledge as well, and asking many questions - just that i'll be spending money on some new equipment and really want/hope it will be the right equipment for what im after, as i haven't really managed to do it on my mamiya,

thanks a lot

 8.
hi,

thanks for the replies to the questions, i havent been able to check internet often, and from the replies have been searching for the different camera types, all which seem pretty interesting,

JDM von Weinberg - yes i've posted in some different threads, didnt think thats a problem in a forum, and my other question was about types of film, and someone says you lens - a low contrast one could give you nicer colors which is why i've posted this thread, as its all related to the thing i'm after,

once i next get some money will be buying some of the suggested films, plus trying to find one of these lens and will post my results up,
thanks a lot

 9.
I'm looking for any color films, either normal film or slide film that would be the closest to the look and colors of kodachrome,
any films that give the nice soft pastal colors of film from the 1950's kind of like this

http://www.ogradyimages.com/gallery/vintagemitch/vmar8808r.jpg

some people have said to use kodak portra nc but doesn't look anything like it,
maybe cross processing?

also would the camera have an effect such as using a low contrast lens, which cameras would be good for this?

 10.
I'm looking for a low contrast lens that would go on a 120 camera, as I was told old low contrast lenses help to produce softer more creamy type colors in images, does anyone know a 120 camera model that would have have one of these lenses, i use a maymia but the soft focus lens doesn't look like it would make the type of colors i want,

i am trying to get these colors,
