1.
I might be posting this in the wrong place but i am not sure were else to go with it. I have a d300

with a sigma 70-200 lens (that you all helped me choose) that i use for shooting my kids sports. I use this

setup with a manfrotto 680b monopod. Here is my problem the monopod is about 3.5-4 inches to short. I want to put

a swivel head that lockes so it does not swivel all the time. this would make it easier to use when i am in the stands

and most inportantly give me the extra height i need so i do not have to scrotch when i stand up to shoot. There are

so many heads available i do not know what are the good ones i also do not wish to spend a ton of money. So what

    do you recommend??? Thank you

  2.
I do not have any examples (the camera is actually by wifes). The pictures i have seen look as if they were taken at the wrong shutter speed. I wish i had more infomation to give that might help. I guess i wait and see.

  3.
I have a coolpix s630 that is taking some blurry pictures. I can not figure out why some are good and others not. It seems to be completly random issue. I think the camera is telling me it is time to get a new point and shoot. Is there anything I should look at before I dump it.

  4.
All the vball I choice the settings (Iso,apt, speed), soccer I choice the apt only usually. I have not shot with a flash before, so at first it will probably be the flash doingthe work. I see a big learnig curve ahead. I really want to be good at the sport stuff. Were can I find info about flash shooting directed at sports? You folks always have great insight in to topices. Thank You

  5.
I have a D300 and 70 -200 2.8 sigma lens, I mainly shoot my kids sports indoor volleyball, basketball (school I can use a flash) club no flash allowed, and outdoor soccer some night games and vacation stuff. I like the idea of having being able to function the cameras flash and a remote flash at the same time (that being the best possible coverage for the buck). Is the sb900 what i need or is there other options?

  6.
Yes David it is the same camera. I just found out that the pictures in question were down loaded to the computer before i looked at them on the camera and the card i was using was not a recommended card. would any of this matter? I think i have solved the black out issue: i cleaned the contacts on the lens and camera since haveing done that i have had no issue. I used the camera for volleyball and soccer a total of about 400 pictures. With no blackouts.

  7.
I have a D300 sometime when i go back a review the pictures on the camers screen some of the pictures will not be there in there place is a red rectangle box with a red x in the middle of it. What does this mean?

  8.
Update: I cleaned the contacts were the lens and the camera met, shot some volleyball on Tuesday and did not have any problems. Going to shoot some soccer tomorrow, hoping the cleaning has solved the problem

  9.
I am shooting my kids volleyball and soccer. I also take photos of the other team and let them know that they can see the photos on my smugmug site. I do this so others can get good shots of their kids (i do not make much at all on the photo). I have not had and issues yet. I am within my rights to take the phots and post them correct? Is there any thing i should be concerned with?

  10.
Hi there,
I design custom posters! I am a consultant for Heritage Makers and I specialize in custom everything. You can also get on my website and design your own posters or use one of the many templates made by fabulous designers. My website is www.bookthosememories.com. You can log on and look at the template gallery to get an idea of the type of work that's out there. The quality is unbeatable. My daughters both compete in high level sports and they have had companies come out and offer posters, nothing came close to what we offer. You can sign up for a free account and play around with it too. Please feel free to e-mail me privately about this- my e-mail is lori16@cox.net. I can also send you some posters that I've done. Thanks.

  11.
The problem is intermitent, I do not have any Nikon lens, I only have any other sigam lens I could try, By two button reset you mean having the camera reset all settings back to factory?

  12.
I was shooting some soccer this weekend and at times the camera would not auto focus. The top info screen showed 00 were the f stop should be ( i was on the apture mode). The shutter worked, i would end up with a black reveiw screen. The lens is a f2.8 70-200 sigam. I can turn the lens ever so slightly left and right. Any thoughts on what to do???

  13.
It is kids soccer (10 year olds) I shoot everything with boths eyes open it makes tracking the action easier. The lens i have is a sigam 70/200 f2.8 it does not have a focus switch. I will try the single point focus. This is my frist time with soccer is any pointers are welcome. The field is not full size. I can cover about 2/3 of the field from one sideline spot. I lose the oppsite side of the field width wise and one goal. Lucky the kids are not that fast and i only have to move a short distance if the action on the farside gets good.

  14.
I have been tring to shot some soccer thur the net, with not much success. Most of the time the camera focuses on the net. Any suggestions on setting, there is a practice this afternoon I could try my hand at.

  15.
I have a Nikon D300, I have tried to shot some soccer thur the net. I can get it sometimes but most of the time the camera is focusing on the net. How can I get more keeper shots.

  16.
Thank you all
I have decided from the input from all of you that the TC is not the way to go. I will get the best shots I can and just crop away.
Thanks

  17.
8 x 10 would be nice now and again, but most of the photos would be used for making digital photobooks and posters where most of the pictures are 5x7 or smaller. For the 8x10 stuff i could just not use the extender. Most of the pictures that get used will not go thur photoshop.

  18.
I have a Nikon d300 and a sigma f2.8 non Vr lens with a circular polarizer. I have some kids soccer to photo on a full size field in Arizona ( we get plenty of sun). My wife has a tamron 28-300 f3.5-6.3 lens which seems to be to short at times. So i have thought about getting a 1.4 or a 2x extender. To use with the f2.8. I have never used and extender before what will the quaility of the photos be like, do i go 1.4 or 2x, who makes good extenders? Any help would be great..
