Every movement of a giraffe seems to be done in slow motion, which
gives them an unique elegance. The bush is a lush green and dark
clouds promise even more rain while these three bulls engange in a
playful necking game.

Lukas, impressive panorama, perfect comp and light. Grand landscape photography. Cheers, Mark.

Probably one of the most moving moments I experienced in the wild. An
elephant had died most probably of anthrax close to a waterhole. For
more than a week another elephant stayed by its dead companion and did
not let any scavanger and predator come close. It could have not been
more symbolic than for the elephant to reach out with his trunk and
say goodbye before finally leaving.

Stretching out in the grass after the morning safari trip in Etosha I
noticed this colourful grasshopper, the black background is the wheel
of my landcruiser. It was the rainy season and black clouds in the sky
provided soft light, using my 200mm macro I got a nice DOF. I like
this image because it kinda shows (to me) how such an insect must
"feel" in the wide world of grass...

Probably the very first wildlife photograph I have ever taken. That
was back in 1987 with a Minolta 7000 (imagine that!) somewhere in the
swamps of Okefenokee. I was on a wooden footbridge and holding out the
camera with my arms (shooting kinda blind) while I was sooo worried
that the alligator would jump up and gnaw of my arm....well, the
reptil was less than a meter... ;-)

Savuti marsh is a fantastic wildlife are in Botswana's Chobe Nat.
Park. - the relic of a large inland lake. The tree skeletons provide
the scenery with a ghostly atmosphere and make for a nice graphical
backdrop to some grazing wildebeests.
