    Patsy , Gerry and Pierre , Thanks for your comments . Gail , I appreciate your suggestion and can see what you mean . My idea was to have the portrait showing through the texture . I didn't want to mask too much off her face as that would have made the texture into just a background ! Bill

    The extreme contrast makes this a difficult shot to get right . You've got the exposure just right , it would have been so easy to finish up with a totally black background ! There is just enough detail to lift it . Excellent . Bill

    Pierre , Patsy , Laura and Alf . Thank you for taking time to comment . I very much appreciate them . I used a Grey and a White layer with masks to achieve the effect . I'm attaching the original so you can judge if it was worth the effort . His left eye is artificial so obviously doesn't react to light . Bill

    I like the format and crop . It was a good idea to add the snow , although to me the scale seems wrong . You could try using Free Transform , enlarging the flakes . Just an idea ! Bill
